If you would have bothered to read the whole thread instead of the first post only, you would have noticed that he changed the psu to a Fortron 350W (16A on the 12V rail).

And I can't imagine that a 300W Antec shouldn't run the system in your quote just fine. And what kind of fans uses 1.6A? And an AthlonXP doesn't run that hot. Especially not the Tbreds. Many OEM system comes with no fans, except the one in the psu. Yes, thats right. And they don't even melt down. OMG.

It has 15A on the 12V. Even Fortrons 180W has 10A on the 12V.

THG reviews psus. Look at the top spot. I have an Antec 380W now, but I have had Fortrons in my last 2 systems. And I have never had any problems. Both systems has been Athlons, one 600, other XP1800 "Palomino". Funny part is the Fortrons was 250W...imagine.

In general Antec, Enermax and Fortrons are all good brands.
I was just making a point that only this Fortron will not make
a good PSU for his system and that a Antec with 300Watts is
not enough power only in the extreme limits for his system.

28A on 3.3V
32A on 5V
15A on 12V

JZilla's setup looks like a solid buy. What do you guys feel about the Envision monitor, versus an entry-level Viewsonic or maybe a Samsung 753DF?

edit: incidentally, the SmartPower units seem to be earning a good reputation, but SmartPower doesn't share TruePower's fully-independent regulation setup that I was quoted on. That's why if you look at their labels, they do have a "combined 3.3V + 5V" rating, while the TruePowers don't combine them and therefore don't need such a rating.

If you use the 15A the Watts goes way above the 350Watts and
that makes me question if the website is just old or if the
sticker is a lie..

...webmasters are normally just lazy.
