Normally 10A ~13A on the 12V AMP makes for a bad Power Supply.
You should think about getting another PSU!

Tronx,

If you would have bothered to read the whole thread instead of the first post only, you would have noticed that he changed the psu to a Fortron 350W (16A on the 12V rail).

And I can't imagine that a 300W Antec shouldn't run the system in your quote just fine. And what kind of fans uses 1.6A? And an AthlonXP doesn't run that hot. Especially not the Tbreds. Many OEM system comes with no fans, except the one in the psu. Yes, thats right. And they don't even melt down. OMG.

oupei,

Congratulations on a nice system. Any problems putting it together?

It has 15A on the 12V. Even Fortrons 180W has 10A on the 12V.

Edit:
28A x 3.3V = 92.4W
32A x 5V = 160W
15A x 12V = 180W

= 432.4W (350Watt ..oops). I think I'm gonna have to fail you. :p

THG reviews psus. Look at the top spot. I have an Antec 380W now, but I have had Fortrons in my last 2 systems. And I have never had any problems. Both systems has been Athlons, one 600, other XP1800 "Palomino". Funny part is the Fortrons was 250W...imagine.

Read the Chart Below FSP350-60BT and FSP350-60BN.
MAXIMUM LOAD = 10.0A

I read the part about the first Power Supply.. and then
saw the change after posting. Yes, I did not read all
the reply posts and I'm guilty of that. Even still don't
point fingers at me for trying to help.

I am sorry if you think that I am pointing fingers at you, I'm not. I'm only trying to help you understand that you dont need a 1GW psu to run a simple system.

To the point:

I dont know what to say about your link. The label from the psu says 15A.

We both made the foul that it cant output so much on the 3.3V and 5V at once. Let me be so humble and quote mechbgon. From this thread.

Antec TruePower: You want 40A on 5V and 28A on 3.3V? Sure, I can do that... I'll have to borrow some off the 12V line, but I can do it. Oh, now you want 12A on 12V and 28A on 3.3V? I can do both at once, gonna have to borrow from 5V, but I can do it.

HEC: Uhh, lemme get this straight, you want 30A on 5V and 20A on 3.3V? At the same time? I can't do that, bro... look at my label. See the "Combined 3.3V + 5V rating?" Those two lines come off one circuit, I can't supply full load to both at once.

Fortron IS a quality psu. In fact I wuld rather have a Fortron than an Enermax. First choice would be Antec though.

In general Antec, Enermax and Fortrons are all good brands.
I was just making a point that only this Fortron will not make
a good PSU for his system and that a Antec with 300Watts is
not enough power only in the extreme limits for his system.

Ahhh.. strang that the website is wrong?
Okay.. so with the new information you list off the label it should be.

28A on 3.3V
32A on 5V
15A on 12V

Much better!:D

I would bail the SoundBlaster Live and use the 8RDA+'s onboard audio processor for sure. Escort GT v. Corvette, which one do you want to drive? ;)

JZilla's setup looks like a solid buy. What do you guys feel about the Envision monitor, versus an entry-level Viewsonic or maybe a Samsung 753DF?

edit: incidentally, the SmartPower units seem to be earning a good reputation, but SmartPower doesn't share TruePower's fully-independent regulation setup that I was quoted on. That's why if you look at their labels, they do have a "combined 3.3V + 5V" rating, while the TruePowers don't combine them and therefore don't need such a rating.

Peace. Don't get mad. My "i'm gonna fail you" line is called sarcasm.

Where the hell did you find that link on Fortrons site? The ratings seem so low, that I'm surprised Fortron is still in business.

I'm heading to bed now, so can't reply until tomorrow.

Last comment for me today.

The 300W Antec also has 15A on the 12V. So it should fine too. Newegg image

Still friends TronX. And remember, I don't point fingers at anyone. I just hate seeing this "I need a 500W psu and 10 case fans" thing.

I am still interested in finding out why Fortron made the page TronX linked to. So if any psu masters can explain, I don't mind learning some more.

For anyone else interested in psus, FiringSquad has a good article.

KristopherKubicki should be hard at work writing a psu review and faq. Should be interesting, considering the high quality of his articles. :)

Night night ppl.

I used Google to find that link.
I also tried using the website and could
not find the same link...strang.

If you use the 15A the Watts goes way above the 350Watts and
that makes me question if the website is just old or if the
sticker is a lie..

...webmasters are normally just lazy.:p

JUIHC <-- Are you sure it is a C at the end?? That would indicate that it's a TBred C I did a quick search on the forums and I see no mention of TBred Cs... Anyone help me out on this one?

9489767270858 <-- The 27 means it's a downgraded 2700+ Supposedly, this means that the chip wasn't stable at 2700+ speeds on default voltage. Therefore, with some help, you should get good OC out of it.

A couple fun sites about XPs:

XP ID
Info/Speculations (down right now)

Not true from what I know. Bad speculation really.

I know it's pure speculation, but why is it bad speculation? You say not true, have some sites?
