I don't disagree. If I were getting a BRZ, it would be White for sure.

OP, can you comment on the Navigation? I've only seen people bitch about it on YouTube. I'm just wondering.

The headunit in general sucks

Is it awd? Only reason I sold my rx8 was because of snow and how many times I would get stuck or in trouble driving that everywhere. I think all Subaru vehicles are awd though.

:( I've had bad experiences with snow and rwd sports cars lol
Do you perhaps have steep hills and/or bad road maintenance?

We have snow and ice for 6-7 months a year. My first and so far only car was a two decades old RWD clunker with close to 70/30 weight ratio, no ABS, and an easily stalled engine. Because of the weight ratio, the car would keep fishtailing all the way up snowy slopes even while driving at constant speed. But I enjoyed driving on snow because there was something to do besides just sitting there and holding the wheel. Drove it for years without accident before I had to get rid of it. I'd love to have a modern (well, anything with a sane weight ratio and ABS) RWD to drive in the winter.

Bro, do you even use snow tires?

The weight ratio on the rx8 wasn't too good. No I didn't have snow tires it was the first car I bought and I wasn't expecting that much snow. At the time I didn't think of spending the money for all new tires when the ones I had were brand new anyway.

I should have done that but it was the mpg also that sucked in that car since I commuted to work about 25 miles each way. I did love that car though I miss it.

*facepalm*

The RX-8 came with summer tires only. Rated to a minimum temperature of about 36F. Driving on those tires below freezing was dangerous and basically negligent. You would have been just fine in the snow if you had any sort of reasonable tire on the car. It takes about 3 seconds to look for the snowflake on a tire to see if it's snow rated.

Yeah perhaps I was being cheap and didn't feel like spending the money to get new tires. Maybe I'll go back to coupes one day, I hope so. I also just sold it on a whim, pretty dumb of me but oh well.

My jaw dropped, and then I realized I accidentally said "weight ratio" when the proper term is "weight distribution". (Sorry, English isn't my native language!) What I meant should have been easily apparent from the context, though - "70/30", uphill fishtailing, etc.

After all, RX-8 has a reputation and awards for being nearly perfect on the handling front as well as weight distribution (50:50). I doubt there are many RWD cars that are better to drive on snow.

On the few occasions I've had to drive my RX-8 in the snow, it was a battle. I usually leave it parked unless I get "caught" before the snow starts.

Definitely because of summer tires. My Summers feel like hockey pucks whenever it drops below 40 degrees. After a few minutes of driving they become "manageable."

I took it snow drifting this last big snowfall - man that was a lot of fun. I almost wrecked it but didn't really care...YOLO.

Yeah I should have kept it I miss the auto wipers and heated seats. And the fact that oh sorry you guys need a ride well you may not fit comfortably back there haha. Although the back looked comfy I never sat there.

It's actually not bad at all. When I was at 260lbs, I sat behind a 240lb guy and was pretty comfortable. I'm 5'10 and he was 5'11.

The only thing about the back seats is that it's a death trap in an accident. I think the RX-8 had the most deaths by fire at one point because people couldn't get out of the back seats after the driver and passenger were knocked out.

I thought it was funny how every two or three of gas fill ups you had to add a quart of oil for the rotary engine. What I started not liking was my commute and how I spent maybe about 120 a week on gas at the time. This was when prices here were about $4.09 to $4.15 for for super.

I would drive to work and back then to my gfs which was at the time maybe 15 miles or more miles away.

Anyone know what the best Subaru BRZ forum is? I am not interested in Scion.
I want to see what people are doing with aftermarket HUs.

How is the gas mileage? I have a hell of drive for work, but still want a fun car. The Subie/Toyota twins look like it may be a good fit.

I currently average around 25mpg in my wife's 2004 Altima V6 auto. My V is around 15 mpg max in the same traffic. I didn't realize the Brz required premium which sucks.

I'm at 2kmiles.

28 avg on premium (93)

City will take you down to around 23/4

Not bad if there is no traffic which is unlikely my lancer gets around 33mpg maybe a little more. With traffic around 25-28..heavy traffic maybe 22-25 it depends. My commute is around 25 miles one way.

I could trade it in for a fun car I just don't want to start my loan over.

It doesn't technically "require" it...it's just highly recommended.
