Going clubbing for the 1st time....any tips?

Who are you going with?. well, that doesn't matter, just as long as your group has some girls along for the ride... it really bites to have to get continously shot down asking girls to dance at a club.

They are usually with their own friends and don't want to dance with a stranger.

Thats why the music in the clubs is so loud. So you can pretend you didn't hear them tell you to get lost, and just continue to dry hump their rear.

99.9% of the users here are not the club/lounge type...

Here's some advice from someone that's spent years in the scene off and on...

TIPS:

1. Strip down your wallet, carry only most BARE essentials, such as your ID/Drivers License and only 1 credit card or ATM card

2. Take some gum or breath mints

3. Carry enough cash for admission, coat check, drinks, late night after-clubbing snacks, and cab fare home just in case

4. Take a pen & paper if u want to collect phone numbers

5. Don't go alone if you're a girl and even then try to move around only in pairs or more

6. Don't let unknown people give you drinks, too high a chance of folks slipping drugs into it

7. Dressing: unless it's an upscale club, most women generally wear some sort of sexy tank-top like shirt and jeans and 3" heels; extra make-up too since it's so dark. Guys wear short-sleeve collared shirts, with the shirt untucked, and slacks; DO NOT WEAR WIFEBEATERS, THAT IS SO GHETTO.

8. Don't bring your cell phone into the club, leave it in your car or it'll fall or get lost

9. Don't let unknown people drive you home

10. Be aware that most people at clubs are putting on a show, their real personality or life is different... the club/lounge crowd is very shallow, so don't go there to meet people with which to have deep and meaningful relationships

If this is your first time, you might not have a lot of fun (unless you are a chick).
Here are some tips though:
1. Don't go to any circles unless you can actually dance.
2. Dress nice but don't over dress
3. If you want to dance with girls, slowly approach them and if they kind of move away then take the hint.
4. Bring some smokes and have a drink in your hand (even if it is just soda) ... try to avoid standing there with your amrs crossed or in your pocket.
Final: If you can get buzzed or loose before the club (don't get too drunk or they won't let you in) then go for it.

Maybe 2....for the whole double bagging. Girls that go to clubs (while they may be hot) have many problems:

1.) They probably have one (or many) types of STD's
2.) Are only looking for a few free drinks
3.) Will end up ripping you off at least once before the night is over
4.) She will take much enjoyment when her current boyfriend, who is of course much bigger than you, starts beating your head in for talking to her (even if she approached you!)

And thats just the problem with the chicks.....Next you have to realize the problem with the music:

2.) Drinks are $5+, ....so you will surely walk out of there broker than you had ever intended

I have been dragged to clubs for many years. Finally now that I've hit the end of my college life.....I can no longer afford clubs. Bars are by far the way to go.....1.) no negro music 2.) cheap beer 3.) more down-to-earth people (esp. the girls)

People at clubs try so hard to be someone who they aren't. At bars you can actually sit down and hear each other talk....actually have a decent conversation. I met my current GF at a library (best place to pick up chicks in college)
