I've wondered about that before too. I mean, assuming there was an all powerful all knowing diety who created us with the purpose of giving us free will so we could choose to worship him for eternity, or else incur punishment and wrath and fire and brimstone. WTF is the point of being worshipped by imperfect beings when you're the mutt's nuts already? And more over punishing them for failing to do so without providing them compelling evidence of your existence or worthiness of eternal adoration in the first place? Makes God sound like a meglomaniac. It would be slick to make it with a green alien chick in heaven though, like Captain Kirk.
Exactly.
The whole thing quite simply just doesen't make any sense.
I honestly believe that religion is simply a crutch for those who do not truely wish to understand. Religion has always been used to explain the unexplainable. The problem is that there isn't a whole lot of unexplainable left.
And I mean that in the nicest way possible.
We look at animals' thought processes and think about how unadvanced they are.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if there wasn't another race out there similar to humans that is so far ahead of us,
we would look like the animals. Think about that for a second. I mean.. leave it up to Humans to believe that we're something special just because everything around us appears inferior.
