Gee, my six-year-old puppy can't explain quantum physics...obviously the whole theory's baloney.

Maybe your puppy doesn't exist :Q

I sometimes wonder what the hell IS the point of this. Maybe God want all our souls so he can make an army of angels to go defeat Satan in a gigantic royal rumble.

but he's God, he can defeat Satan without our help, don't you think? :p God is God, Lucifer is just a fallen angel. No angel can beat God, whether good or bad.

Are you sure? how do you know? Even if all that were true, isn't satan supposed to be deceptive? Maybe that's what he wants you to think. To underestimate him. Then again maybe it's not a him but rather a her. in fact it's most likely a her. and don't flame me for this concept or I'll think your flames are that of satan and that you're her.

time for you to go to bed :p The point is that we don't know for sure. Like why we're here to begin with. This is the song that never ends...

Trying to bed me since you cannot win the argument? Typical female tactic, I might have known. You are all evil aren't you? All evil pleasure fembots.

I didn't say that I didn't believe in God because I don't know the purpose of every living thing that will ever exist.

I believe that everything seems to work without having God in the equation, so why would he even be there. It only makes the equation more difficult and most things in life seem to favor the simple explanation.

Just because I don't believe it, doesn't mean I can't ask questions whose answers can shape my ideas on life.

Just because you ask such questions doesn't mean you'll find any answers here. Here on ATOT you're lucky if you can even find anyone that understands your question.

The way I see it, AT has so many members and most people here are quite intelligent and can give a lot of useful insight into situations and questions. That is why I come to the forums.

Inspired by your sig:

The only place you'll find an answer is in the dictionary under A.

The thing is, that the people that believe in God believe that he just made it to work that way.

Either that, or you can be like my dad, and not care, know or be willing to learn how it works.. just believe that "it's in God's hands".

I've wondered about that before too. I mean, assuming there was an all powerful all knowing diety who created us with the purpose of giving us free will so we could choose to worship him for eternity, or else incur punishment and wrath and fire and brimstone. WTF is the point of being worshipped by imperfect beings when you're the mutt's nuts already? And more over punishing them for failing to do so without providing them compelling evidence of your existence or worthiness of eternal adoration in the first place? Makes God sound like a meglomaniac. It would be slick to make it with a green alien chick in heaven though, like Captain Kirk.

Exactly.

The whole thing quite simply just doesen't make any sense.

I honestly believe that religion is simply a crutch for those who do not truely wish to understand. Religion has always been used to explain the unexplainable. The problem is that there isn't a whole lot of unexplainable left.

And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

We look at animals' thought processes and think about how unadvanced they are.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if there wasn't another race out there similar to humans that is so far ahead of us, we would look like the animals. Think about that for a second. I mean.. leave it up to Humans to believe that we're something special just because everything around us appears inferior.

If by out there you mean right here, just on a different dimension, then yeah, they are out there.
