Bought a piece of Godiva Dark chocolate and was very disappointed; So over rated it's not funny; Ghiradelli is better as well as hershey's new dark chocolate that has 60% COCOA; godiva=craP

godiva tastes good but is way overpriced for what it is.
now target's new choxie truffles? damn best truffles i have had but then again i haven't sampled crazy expensive chocolate.

Had Godiva Chocolates over at their shop at Fanuel Hall and they were great. Maybe the dark Choclate wasn't so great but their other candies were awesome.

they are over priced, but they have THE best chocolate covered strawberries... and i have tasted TONS. theirs are the best

I can't believe I just read that Hershey's chocolate is considered better than Godiva. Hershey's = wax crap.

Next time, try a Godiva truffle.

i did try a truffle, it was good, but still not nearly worth the price

their dark chocolate=crap

and yes i did say the new hershey's with 60% cocoa tastes better; have u tried the new hershey's dark chocolate? otherwise keep your lame comments to yourself;

Nuehaus for retail chocolate, if you're lucky enough to find an outlet.

Hachez Dark Chocolate is the best I've ever had. 88% cacoa, and not at all gritty. Not too easy to get, but can be ordered from Chocosphere.

Oh yeah... IIRC I was at Marshall Fields in Chicago last year, and Nuehaus was actually less expensive than Godiva.

I tried some champagne truffles that were sent over from California about a month ago. They were made with Dom Periogne (sp?) and all kinds of fancy chocolate. I guess they were pretty expensive but my gf footed the bill. Pretty unique taste though! Here is their website.

Um....maybe you got a bad piece. It's definately a premium chocolate, and Hershey's can't make anything that would compare.

I think Godiva is overrated. Hell as somebody else mentioned, I think Target's Choxie stuff tastes better.

Yea, Godiva's way overpriced, but their Marbleized Scallop Shell just tastes really good.
It's got hazelnuts, milk chocolate, and crushed bits of English toffee in a marbleized shell.

Just go in and ask for a sampler, I think they still give one choco out for free...well they did at the store near me. But they do make some really good milk chocolates though and Im not much of a chocolate fan at all.

i prefer white chocolate, once i had a bar filled with peach and nuts (pistachio? macademia?) it was delicious!!! sadly, i can't find it any more. google didn't help.

Lindt truffles for me. Oh so good. In fact there was a thread here 2 or 3 years ago about chocolate, had some very good recommendations. Might try searching the archive if your looking for good brands of chocolate.

I love people who comment on a topic they know nothing about. Stick to your Folgers, Hershey's, and Lee Jeans.
