stop posting.

p.s. I presume you'd rather have people destroy themselves with cigarettes? I'd rather not. Hey, he might be a bum to you, but he's famous. I don't see you in any commercials. So shutup.

I don't even know why they advertise it. People who smoke are WELL aware of the problems associated with it. Even little kids knows it is "bad" ... althought I am not saying it is good or bad.

If you live in America, you know that consequences. Seeing a commercial is not going to make those people quit. They will quit when they are ready.

It may stop people from starting. I say some guy the other day that was puffing smoke in his ~10 year old daughters face :| I am sure he won't be telling her the negative effects of smoking.

While the "truth" commercials are annoying, I'd rather see that kind of public eduacton than silly bans and restrictions. Unfortunately, they go hand in hand.

I laugh every time I hear them, or other antismokers zero in on the tobacco comapnies lyng about nicotine being addictive, or tobacco use causing cancer. WTF does it matter? Any idiot who has half a brain in the last 40 years has known this. EVERYONE laughed at the CEOs when they said that.

At any rate, has anyone seen the Penn and Teller show "Bullsh!t" on Showtime? They did an excellent show on the myth of "the dangers of second hand smoke." Really tore the EPA report to shreds.

So children are born aware of the dangers? I guess we don't have to inform people after all.

The facts. The EPA report that every state is basing it's laws on is a pile of horsesh!t. Out of dozens of valid studies they picked only the studies that backed their case when in fact, the majority did not. The study was thrown out of federal court for this.

But, just like the breast implant scam, it's grown a life of it's own.

I was told of the dangers of smoking in grade school. So was everyone I know. It's all around you. You'd have to be oblivious to understand ANY lanuage, and not know that smoking is dangerous.

If the information stops and people stop talking about the danger where will children get their info? It certainly won't be from their chain smoking parents who blow carcinogenic smoke in their faces.

I dont' care if second hand smoke is less harmful than what everyone says, I sitll think all indoor smoking in public places should be BANNED.

I agree 100%. Smoking is the stupidest, dumbest thing anyone can possibly do. But some of these anti-smoking commercials are about as honest as the tobacco companies.
Like the one where the toxic suit guy hold up the cigarette to some chemical tester and then he says he worried about the results. Give me a break.

im gonna go out on a limb here, but maybe they're out there to strike back at all those Joe camel posters and magazine adds that are all over the place and all over the store counters and signs.

When and where will information stop? Like I said, it's in all the schools... from as soon as you can talk, you hear about it. I never said I wanted that to stop. Just the restrictions and bans. They're silly and a violation of private property and individual rights.

What right do you have to force the PRIVATE owner of a business to do what makes you comfortable on their PRIVATE PROPERTY?

If a business owner allows smoking, just don't go there. It's that simple. He obviously doesn't want your business anyhow.

the commercial i liked was this old dude sitting down, grandfather, baby walking towards him, but he disappears. this hits the point home.

truth commercials are just plain annoying

I really don't care either way but if they set it up so it's banned in public places, go for it. Smoke doesn't bother me but it sure as hell isn't pleasing. Private businesses should have their own options but in public, I think it could be interpreted as a health risk and therefore I'm sure there are people trying to get laws passed.

What if the owner feels like placing arsenic in his food he serves as well? Does he have every right to do that?

im not against anti cigarrete smoking commercials, just annoying trashy ones like truth. those commercials are so bad that kids that see those types of commercial will prolly be pushed to smoke. there's plenty of good anti cig commercial none of them being the truth commercials.
