Everywhere I look there seems to be someone complaining about their 7800GT(X). Is it just me or is it a buggy card, or maybe it's too early for the card to be stable?

Im not seeing a huge difference in games from my x800xl.....

However, i am seeing a difference in 20-30 fps in DOD:S. Is it worth the extra money? Maybe not....

It's probably because half the threads are from banned trolls who keep coming back when they aren't welcome.
 
ill tell u tomorrow what difference it makes from a x800xtpe tomorrow when i get my mobo/cpu. im hyped about it... hopefully i wont be disappointed

I'm going to make a guess.

You aren't running a monitor that does 1600x1200 or better.

If i am correct, that's why.

As i have said a zillions times (to deaf ears often, since most people here don't seem to get it), unless you have a 20" + monitor (or a 19" CRT that does 1600x1200), you are pretty much wasting money by buying a 7800GTX.
 
My 24" Sony FW900 goes up to 2304x1440 @80 htz, but I can't really afford a GTX. 🙁

Also, as for "buggy" 7800 cards, bear in mind the majority of 7800 owners in the world don't usualy comment or make a topic if it runs without any problems. It's when there IS a problem that members start topics.
It can make us a tad biased.

Plz dont mistake me for someone who is just randomly bitching and complaining about its performance. I made a thread dedicated to fixing the problems i was having as well. Dont get me wrong, i really like this card, its beautiful, but as far as spending the extra for it compared to a x800xl? Maybe not for some folks. I am talking about my 7800gt, not the 7800gtx.

no complaints here!! but if u cant game at 16x12 or higher getting a GTX is a waste of money.

There is a difference between complaints and someone trying to find a solution for poor performance, kinda the point of posting in these forums.
 
Well buck, i'm not sure what your problems were, but nVidia does tend to have crappy drivers.

It seems they keep getting worse & worse...or certainly not better anyway.
