Senator Dianne Feinstein said she was "totally opposed" to the National Security Agency's (NSA) intelligence gathering on leaders of US allies.

But she's perfectly fine with mass spying on the American people. Can the good people of California kindly vote out this senile old wise and beautiful woman? I don't care how nuts her opposition is, anything's better than this. /facepalm

Please don't use the c word. It is very degrading of women. Try to imagine somebody calling your mother that.

I think deserves the right to be called that and any other name possible.

If my mother was Diane Feinstein I wouldn't blame them. For that matter the term could be accurately applied to many politicians, male and female.

I know you're interested in cognitive bias and how it shapes our moral intuition. Consider how you might feel if the OP were criticizing a male politician and calling him a prick or a wanker. Would you implore him to think of someone calling his father derogatory names?

If we put one gender on a pedestal, it devalues the other, and ultimately drags everybody down I believe.

As for the OP, I was thinking the same of Feinstien. She was wrong about this before, she changed her position (still wrong) and has thus far spoken from both sides of her ass on the matter. Our representatives are not representing the people any more.

Could be. Who cares? I don't ask that he put women on a pedestal but stop using a highly derogatory word for a gender that already suffers massive inequality. Every male should have learned at his or her parent's knees not to degrade women. You would have to be asleep not to see the damage our culture does to them. If women have to fight every battle for self respect alone men will also pay a terrible price. I asked him to be on the right side of things. It should be obvious and not something one needs to go war defending.

You don't know what the Senate is, do you?

You mean that beautiful being Harry Reid, the senile old fart that wouldn't negotiate? The guy who started calling Republicans Terrorists & Anarchists? The guy who shut down the government? That's the Senate.

If you start chipping away at our battery of nasty words, what are we going to call people whom we abhor?

I have never voted for her. I get the impression though that people in CA vote down party lines and for incumbants regardless of the issues. How hard is it to at least read the voter pamphlet and a website or 2 comparing the candidates before going to vote? There's no excuse for always voting for the same person and party year in and year out. You can mix it up people! Look at the issues!

At least no one can deny how hot she is.....

Goes for most of Congress.

Hmmm... I wonder who the most photogenic is? Going through the list of youngest I see Aaron Schock of Illinois:

Meanie-pants. The reshaping of your mind begins with the words you're allowed to use. The really bad ones cannot even be called upon but instead must be referred to by no more than their first letter.

I find this narrative from the admin over spying on allies pathetic. When Obama found our Merkel was under surveilence he jumped to stop it. When the people who elected are spied on he thinks he is doing the right thing.

And this inequality would be evidenced by a female Senator how? Or how about the fact that you apparently think women deserve special privilege(well okay, you got me there that is inequality, although not in the way you meant it;) )

If a woman wants respect she should earn it. And being an idiot like Feinstein is not the way to do it.

If they really were equal, they wouldn't need to have males indoctrinated to treat women with kid gloves. And if men have to help women "fight their battle for self-respect" then it's not really self-respect by definition.

So is positioning yourself as a victim when you weren't even the intended recipient. When I hear a women describe a man as a "dick," I don't immediately get offended and go on the offensive (like you did).

Seems like you're just waiting to be offended

Revisionists history already? Don’t you normally have to wait a while for folks to start forgetting what actually happened?
