If there was one reason I'd want to live in the states, it would be the faster Internet. Man that would be awesome. I can't even begin to imagine how awesome it would be.

I'd probably buy several business packages and start a mini colo. Well, assuming I was not working where I am now, as that would be a conflict of interest. 😛

Doom 3 was, I believe, the last shooter I ever bought. Heck, that might have been the last PC game I ever bought. I thought it was pretty good....and I actually did play it through to the end, which I can't say for many games.

Maybe within my lifetime we'll get FIOS around here....but I think the last I read Verizon was no longer aggressively expanding it.

depends on where you live, i pay like 70$ for 3 mbps 🙁

Guess I have a wireless problem...It's annoying I have 2 AP's in the house on 2 floors and 2 separate channels, and I still can't get decent coverage in some rooms. And my house is small.

Here is the real speed (lowest tier I'm paying for 15/5)...

It's usually a little faster, but the wife is on the phone and there are 2 people currently logged into the minecraft server.

And yes, youtube still buffers 😀
 
When they saw how my speeds were they upgraded me from the 2nd gen router to the 3rd but Wifi speeds are still limited to about 15mbit per device.
With Ethernet I am getting closer to 60mbit (pretty good considered we only pay for 50 and they usually clamp you).
 
I love FiOS. It was a requirement when I moved. I only cared about the improved 1080p quality over cable.

My internet is the cheapest I could get (20/5) which is more than enough for me. I don't really care whether something takes one minute or five minutes to download. AS long as I have a decent ping for gaming, and browsing is quick.
 
FiOS is truly awesome! sucks so hard that they don't have it in IL. They have ATT or Comcast. Fuck both of those choices.

Probably the number #1 reason I won't be coming back here unless I get a good job offer lol
 
even getting 30/25 on wifi at home. Too bad when I go upstairs it's 5/2. WTF kryptonite drywall.
