i used to work out at home when i couldn't afford membership to a gym.. but i was content at working out at home. i did see results, and i started to like working out alone.

buut.. then came college and i got access to the huge gym. although it did take me some time getting used to, i found out i was more motivated.. got faster gains. the biggest advantage was learning from other people.. for the newbies, the gym shows proper form.. from some people. you can always ask for a spot too. i found myself rolling the barbell off my chest one too many times working out at home.

but yeah, it's all on your preference.. alone or with other people.

The guy states that sissy squats can be bad for the knees. He also talks about using the Smith machine for pressing movements. That was why I quoted him, but maybe you missed those parts of the sentences.

Well, i understand why you believe in this, but if you were to study it properly, you would know that ANY squat exercise has the potential for damaged joints... sissy squats has less potential for joint damage simply because it involves only one joint...

I didn't miss any of your sentences, i just dismissed them, because they are written by some ding dong who has worked out maybe one week in his entire life...

I know what works for me, and obviously it does... so i can say it, becaues dammit, I HAVE TRIED IT AND IT WORKED... that is my point...

I don't take anybodys word for anything, i try it out and if it works, then i will continue to use it, like heavy sissy squats, dumbell presses, creatine, hmb, pyruvate... and so on... it works for me... i will recommend it...

I have a fairly good setup at home, so I prefer that. It includes an ellipticaln trainer, bench, various free weights and olympic bar. There are too many weirdos at the gym and it is difficult to access the equipment in the order I wish and without long waits surrounded by men with "thighscrapers" :disgust:
