ugh, I can't decide when to pounce. Now, or later this afternoon.

Wait until the hearings are over. They're testifying right now. Keep an eye on MSNBC. If they don't do well, the price is going to drop. If they do well and don't make asses of themselves again, there should be a price spike.

This market is not for buying & holding. I suspect it won't be safe to do so for another 5 years...

It is for buying and holding if your time horizon is sufficiently long and you invest in broad market-based funds as opposed to single company stocks.

😕 Ummm...in case you haven't seen, mutual funds are in the crapper too. 3-5 years is probably a good timeline. You're going to want to put money in super safe bets right now like CD's, liquidy funds, and assets funds. They will only make 2%-5%, but it's better than losing 30%. It could take well over a decade to gain back what has been lost.

Yes, it's that bad.

True, all mutual funds are in the crapper. Nobody knows where the bottom is, however. I'll continue to make my periodic investments into the funds I own, knowing that I am buying shares at historically cheap prices. I don't care if it doesn't recover in a decade, because I won't be retiring for 4 decades.

I'm watching MSNBC now. But are the hearings going to end today, or are they going to end tomorrow? I thought they go on tomorrow too, don't they?
