I only use Gmail because I have to have an alternative to my regular mail (AT&T), which I can access at home via Live Mail or online on their server; the interface of the latter is OK, but typical web mail. Have no use for Hotmail. If you have an ISP, see what they offer online.

what happens when you leave ATT? no more mail for you?

I personally have never used an isp provided email because of this reason. Love gmail, if i didnt have it though, i would probably use hotmail. <which is my backup atm

I love gmail. I also have a hotmail account and I think it's the worst junk I have ever used. Their spam filter is useless. Gmail's spam filter is excellent. I didn't think the new gmail look was really that different. I have my display density set to cozy.

Been using gmail since it came out in '04. what mostly bothers me is googles constant need to "change" things.

if it ain't broken don't fix it! i suggest you just use something like outlook. since i have exchange at the office, i live on outlook. using it at home for gmail is a breeze and works fine.

I switched the Live mail, I try but I just can't stand the new Gmail look.
I don't know why Google mess with it for, there are tons of people complaining about the new look in their forum.

I think the account of people complaining isn't a very high number, compared to people who didn't really care.

Personally, it took me maybe a day to get used to the new look. with the compact view it looks almost the same. And if you've got that much of a problem with the look, but love gmail, there's a ton of solutions for you.

Personally, if i had a problem with the new look, i would switch to something like outlook or thunderbird - or sparrow for my mac. Enable imap, and youre set.

And windows live? how is that any better than gmails new look? :what:

I like Lavabit's simplicity.

I was doing a test run of Lavabit, but I forgot my password :^/

I like the fact they don't crawl through mail to generate ads, and the paid service provides server side encryption. I need to start a new account, and remember my password this time :^D
