Fair enough?

I realize that the Maxima is not the most eco-friendly car and that it isn't great on gas...in fact it is very mediocre in that respect. However, I do not drive it much and it does fit the needs of my relatively small family of 3.

It's funny, I just took it in for service this morning. Just routine maintenance and realized that between April and today I've only driven the car 2,900 miles.
Most of my friends that own large trucks and SUV's don't drive far. Most work at home, and the furthest driving commuter faces a 12 mile round trip.
It really sucks that you have an elitist mindset that thinks everyone's lifestyle should match yours.
They drive what they want, because they can. Just like you.

I'm not twisting anyone's arms to buy fuel efficient vehicles. They are doing this on their own. Why does everyone get on my case because I'm happy that people are making, IMO, better decisions when it comes to buying vehicles?

You come across like your on some high horse and better than these evil, wicked SUV owners. You also seem to have a hatred for SUV owners that you don't have owners of non-SUV gas-guzzling vehicles (i.e. muscle cars, sports cars, etc.). You say that it's because they don't "need" an SUV and should just buy a car instead, but then you dismiss statements that say very few people "need" a poor-fuel-economy V6 or V8 in their car instead of a 4-banger.

I'm not saying this is how you really are, because I don't know you. It just seems that any thread that involves SUVs includes statements from you that basically say SUVs and their owners are an abomination to our society.

That's really how he is.

I think it's really bad to stereotype SUV owners. Sure, they are all generally fat slobs and vote incorrectly based on silly religious beliefs, but that doesn't give anyone the right to bash them.

I'm very torn on this issue. I'm very much for personal choice and responsibility, except in our economy, the bad choices of others always seem to come back to haunt us. For example, driving a vehicle that goes way beyond your needs/lifestyle or getting a house on an interest only loan when you can't afford to buy it. It's as if the common American has the mentality to grab as much as they can before someone else gets to it.

Its called greed, and it is the very foundation of our society. It also upholds the economic "throw away" model.... There is a great deal more, but it is useless to go on about it. It is all about your priorities...i have no trouble with some one living in a run down single wide trailer while their 45,000 truck or suv is parked out front. however, i do not like when their decisions back fire on them in such a a way that propels them into my pocket. Either by means of repossession, failure to pay, etc.

Stricter and ENFORCED economic liability needs to be kept in check, and that runs also to the point of ARSES running billion dollar companies that thrive off of the impoverished peoples greedy decisions.
