word. I'm looking for a car either for this model year or next...I'm in no rush...but before the Fusion came out I wasn't even considering Ford....at least they're trying to change things up. GM's the same old garbage....although I did like the Grand-Am and Grand-Prix

this kind of stuff AMAZES me? how do you know ford is trying to change things up other than styling?

you say GM is the same old garbage and yet Consumer Reports says it's quality is very high.

weird.

so basically, are you basing your comments all on LOOKS only?

dont forget he has probably never sat in the following vehicles.

new Tahoe
new Escalade
new Yukon
new Impala
new Malibu
new Cobalt
new HHR
CTS
STS

now how many fords was that you listed?

you forgot

G6
Solstice
Sky
Aura
any of the new Buicks

g6 Coupe is SWEET. i test drove a g6 the other day and it was prety nice.

i like the new impala with the v8 also.

my point is, looks is so subjective. it really annoys me that people dismiss gm cars purely based on looks. and IMO many of the gm's are as good looking if not better than the camry's and accords that people end up buying.

Yes, people need to just go into the showrooms and actually try out these cars, they will be very surprised. Stopping going by what other people and biased publications say, they seriously don't know what they're talking about.

That'll never happen because they learn more reading a forum. 😉

Who knows why they're doing it, they might just want people on the lots to see their products first hand instead of going by second-hand info.

The problem with the American auto industry is two reasons. 1. The hayday of the SUV/Trucks is over and it's never going to be as good as it once was. 2. They don't sell cool cars like this to Americans and I have no idea why not! Look at European/Japanese manufactuers who are doing quite well and they have mostly cars without 1/2 their product line being trucks/SUVs. And they release cool turbocharged enthusiest cars that people get excited about and the only American cars I can say that for is the Mustang and GTO. I would take a Focus ST over any Civic Si anyday.

how is that car "cool"?

i don't perceive it as cool.

again and again i say it, yes, there are objective measures by which one can say, toyota and honda are better car manufacturers than the domestics, HOWEVER, the "cool" factor is NOT one of those objective measures. cool is whatever the he11 you want it to be.

look at how "cool" some chrysler products are deemed as being. no matter how "cool" a car is, quality control issues are the same. the chrysler that's so "cool" is no better quality control wise than the chrysler / dodge minivans.

ok, ai42.

the cool cars you mention that Japanese manufacturers bring over are??

RX8 (baddddddd reliability, it burns more oil than the exxon valdez did when it crashed)

now tell me what keeps Toyota afloat?

its the Camry and the Avalon.

cool cars huh.

1. American manufacturer's do not only build trucks:disgust:

2. the Solstice/Sky isn't cool. Last i heard it was in high demand. How about the CTS-V, Z06, Viper, Cobalt SS Supercharged.

more disinformation.

they did, but this price is about 3 grand higher on every car than the GMS price is.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i think this discount scheme is based off of the supplier discount. Not that it makes a difference.

it does make a difference, there is quite a large price difference, GMS is ABOUT 15% off msrp

Supplier discount im guessing is about 8% off.

Half of Toyotas product line is trucks and SUVs and they don't make anything cool.
