Glute soreness - stretches, thoughts?

Ran hard in a 5k on Saturday. Ran on Monday (4.5 miles - slow pace). Ran 2 miles Tuesday. Rested today.

I was sore after the race on Saturday. Took sunday off. Ended up cramping in my quads near my glutes on the run on Monday, and felt like crap on my run Tuesday. I rested today - and it is still really sore.

I've been foam rolling them, stretching, did yoga this evening.

Kind of hard to ice your glutes. Thoughts? This is unusual, I'm never usually 'sore' other than that day.
 
Hm, quads aren't near your glutes... Do you mean your hamstrings?

Just keep doing some light activity, maybe take an extra day off. You should be alright.
 
Get into a tub and/or topical rubs. This foam rolling crap today is being used as a catch-all for everything.

The main thing is to determine if it's something to work through or wait out.
