Gloves Off: The Dem Plan To Hit McCain

McCain is just too moderate on many issues for the rightwing of the repubs. I think that's pretty straightforward. Which means his support and funding will be pretty wishy-washy. And for the repubs to nominate anybody else still in the race would be a suicidal fit of pique. Might as well just set the scuttling charges, head for the lifeboats...

Dems will obviously attack on the issues- they'd be fools not to. I think that McCain's best chance would be for Dems to nominate Clinton, which would obfuscate the choices, also engage 16 years worth of irrational Hillary-hate conditioning in his favor...

An Obama nomination would offer voters a clearer choice, avoid the negativity that a Clinton nomination would allow for repub partisans as well. I think he'd steamroller McCain or any other repub choice right into the dirt- that's how fed up the public really is with their leadership...

Precisely. Which reinforces my point. The electorate isn't satisfied with "War Hero" playing over and over. There's a whole lot more that goes in to the equation.

Well one thing for sure, GWB&co now have experience and are up to speed on policy issues.

The point being, GWB&co. experience was bad coming and even worse now. I don't want to be told someone is experienced, I want to believe a person has the previous experience to make the correct calls on current reality.

Obama made the correct call on the Iraq war before the collective congress entrusted GWB with a blank check, and Hillary and McCain did not. And thats a combination of previous experience plus judgment.

There is little doubt that Hillary has more experience regarding the history of various governmental issues. But is it good experience or bad experience when it comes down to
JUDGMENT? Because judgment is where the rubber meets the road, what to do or not to do.
And how to come down on those crucial does the means justify the ends questions.

And the other question is in implementation of policy. Even if it can be argued that removing Saddam was the correct action, it cannot be argued that GWB policy was anything but totally and horribly poorly planned. Allowing a small minority Iraqi insurgency to grow into a full grown monster. So if policy is not well implemented, it fails regardless of it being the right thing to do.
