Was flipping through the channels and saw it's playing on AMC. Such a good movie (IMHO) and great acting by Broderick. Seems kinda underrated though or maybe others just thought it sucked :D

It's one of those movies that chokes me up at the end.

Good, but the final battle is semi-annoying. Theey route and almost take the fort, but just cause two cannons go off, everyone's dead. So, was it grapeshot that got everyone or is there an extra 200 people behind there?

They don't almost take it. They let them go ahead through b/c the rebels knew what was awaiting the soldiers. A nice can of F U.

And the two canon blasts were more symbolism than anything else I guess. You see their faces, then boom... you know they're dead.

One of my top 3 movies of all time. Really disappointed the Blu-Ray release was delayed as that was my most looked forward to purchasing movie title this year.

There aren't many unfortunately. :(

Gettysburg is amazing. Gods and Generals was no Gettysburg.

What he said. :)

It is irritating though. I wish they had done something different for the ending.

That TNT movie, Gettysburg, is another good Civil War movie. Pretty true to The Killer Angels. Joshua Chamberlain was hardcore.

Pretty emotional movie... thinking about it, the soundtrack seems to play a big part in having that effect.

I thought the ending was great (I first saw that AMC was playing the movie and said to myself "To hell with commercials" and busted out my DVD and just finished watching). You have Broderick being thrown down into the trench with the rest of his men, then you have Denzel topple down right on top of him with his head resting on Broderick's chest. So fitting.

**Man tears!** :D

Overall, the ending is pretty powerful stuff. I just hated the whole running through the fort bit with the cannon and stuff. I caught it on HDNET a while back. :)

Densel getting whipped was an extremely powerful scene.

That scene probably won him the Oscar. I was thinking that as I was watching it tonight. The build up in the music then leads to the single tear that comes from his eye.
