Yes, there are two sets of quote in the title.

http://www.theguardian.com/environm...ay-2015-on-track-to-be-warmest-year-on-record

The Earth experienced its hottest June and the hottest first half of the year since records began, according to scientists.

Off-the-charts heat is “getting to be a monthly thing”, said Jessica Blunden, a climate scientist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. June was the fourth month of 2015 to break a record, she said.

“There is almost no way that 2015 isn’t going to be the warmest on record.”

I know, I know - it snowed in January in the North Pole, ergo, there is none of that dang ding dong Global "Warming" business the liberals created.

And, yes The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration is a puppet of Al Gore.

But, there does seem to be actual Global Warming.

Another link - on how 2014 was trumped by 2015 as the hottest year; http://www.climatecentral.org/news/june-record-warm-19264

Satellite data indicates that June was indeed warm (second hottest since 2010), but not the hottest month ever. Actual temperature data and the NOAA temperature reconstructions seem to be quite divergent. Why do we have this huge discrepancy...anybody know?

It's funny, when the weather is unusually cold, the alarmist scream "it's not global warming anymore, it's 'climate change', we are still right!"

And then the weather turns warm for a bit, they forget all about 'climate change', and go right back to 'global warming'.

It's hard to take seriously when the 'predictions' change so drastically every few months.

Overall, the globe is getting warmer. That doesn't mean that every place on earth will be warmer.

When people who don't understand the science say "but it's colder here so that means global warming is wrong", telling them that it's climate change is an attempt to help them understand.

The reason the term change to climate change happened is because people who are too stupid to talk to can't understand that just because it might be cold where they are that doesn't mean the net global average temperature isn't increasing. In the end, global warming is still happening and it causes global climate change so that it may not always be hotter where you are, but the Earth is hotter and that affects worldwide climate.

Oh boy! Another climate change thread! I was worried that the two or three going on already wouldn't be able to handle the reams of irrefutable evidence provided by either side.
We need a section called "dead horse beating".

I understand what they're saying, but I do find the rhetorical gyrations of climate change alarmists amusing as well.

Here's the temperature record used to fine tune weather models. Not a common sight, but yet another indicator supporting the Satellite record over the Surface record.

2014 and 2015 are only all time records if you find your missing heat from ship buckets, among other adjustment problems with the Surface record.

Your link appears to be broken.

Despite the controversy, I understand that GISS is now using the ship bucket adjustments as well.

No kidding, time for this to be posted again as a reality check for people who believe that trying and failing over and over again is something they should be admired for.

Whoever made that image is the person who needs a reality check.

There is no way a person with even a cursory knowledge of climate change would say there have been no legislative successes.

Who duped you this time?

Lets start a thread called "climate change solutions" where we can discuss the methods by which we can get our climate back to where someone has decided it should be. This would be helpful as I can only come up with two viable methods of addressing the problem.

Nuclear is one solution (that's realistic)...what's the other?

Nuclear is not a solution by itself. It will eventually lack capacity and sustainability. Think of it more as a stepping stone, something to help us more immediately address CO2 and energy needs while giving us time to develop solar and fusion.

In order to have an impact, Nuclear needs immediate mass production.

How many degrees of global warming has legislative action prevented?

My home is 100% electric power for heat, a/c, hot water, light, etc. My electric bill suddenly in Nov 2014 went up 70%. Gas is cheap. Oil got a lot cheaper. But somehow it suddenly got very expensive in Masshole. Reason the religion of climate change. It's all a big scam. The biggest ever. Al Gore has made himself a billionaire on climate change, and he still has 5 suv's, flies in private jets and undisclosed number of swimming pools.

Heard on the radio yesterday, that in Masshole a wind powered farm will be constructed for $600M. It will serve 70,000 people's power needs. Read today in Ohio a natural gas plant is being constructed and will cost $900M. But it will serve the power needs of 750,000 people. How dare they!

In the crazies' states they want to stop fracking. The religion of climate change is hurt by this.

What record? According to the geologic record we are in frigid period right now.

Ok, everybody who has suffered greatly through the past year raise their hand...
Anybody who suffered moderately....
Anybody who suffered a little.....

So in sum, no human suffering has occurred. It has been an unseasonably cold summer here in Wisconsin (for the 3rd year in a row), but since I like it cool, it has been great. Looks to be a bumber crop year here in terms of agriculture.

I always marvel at the lack of news coverage of new crop production records that get set world-wide on a yearly basis. According to warmist scientists, there is NO way that a warmer climate and CO2 charged atmosphere could contribute to crop production. Fuck all the science that PROVES the connection, WE your warmist priests have models that absolutely destroy the notion that CO2 and warmth contribute to bumper crop yields.

For a little perspective as the idiocy of making predictions 100 years out, I give you Mr Tesla:

The year 2100 will see eugenics universally established. In past ages, the law governing the survival of the fittest roughly weeded out the less desirable strains. Then man’s new sense of pity began to interfere with the ruthless workings of nature. As a result, we continue to keep alive and to breed the unfit. The only method compatible with our notions of civilization and the race is to prevent the breeding of the unfit by sterilization and the deliberate guidance of the mating instinct. Several European countries and a number of states of the American Union sterilize the criminal and the insane. This is not sufficient. The trend of opinion among eugenists is that we must make marriage more difficult. Certainly no one who is not a desirable parent should be permitted to produce progeny. A century from now it will no more occur to a normal person to mate with a person eugenically unfit than to marry a habitual criminal.

Predictions say that the El Nino this Winter will likely be one of the strongest in the past 50 years. 2015 will likely be a very warm year.
