According to your religion the sinners(gas hogs) need to repent(give up habit) for the greater good of the world. If they dont then the end of the world is coming(revelations). However if you want to have forgiveness without giving up the habit you can pay for carbon credits(Indulgences) that are sold by the prophets and religious leaders of the man made global warming crowd.

Global Warming has already attracted a dogmatic following of true believers, so the answer to your question is no.If Global Warming was declared a religion would you respect it?
Yes there is a science behind it...but those who believe the science have assumed an almost fanatical religious stance in denouncing those who choose to engage in scientific debate, or challenge the theories surrounding the SOURCE of global warming, and what can be done to prevent it.There is SCIENCE BEHIND IT. I'm not talking about man made global warming, which is in the air, I'm talking about how the climate is rapidly changing.

They make no effort whatsoever to understand the subject matter or the basis of opposing opinions that may, just may, be based on facts and information that could actually result in some actual thinking and potentially intelligent dialog.
Instead of addressing topics head-on with direct answers to direct questions, typically we see misdirection, ad hominem arguments, imagined exaggerations of another?s viewpoint, evasion tactics, rationalization, strawman arguments, random comparisons to Hitler (see Godwin's Law), and...last but not least...name-calling troll posts such as this.
Independent thinking and objective dialog is now the exception rather than the rule. How sad is that?

name-calling? if someone thinks that global warming is a religion, they're stupid. christianity is a religion, buddhism is a religion, taoism is a religion, islam is a religion... global warming is an event; very different from a religion.
the science is out there and almost everyone in the scientific community agrees that global warming is occurring. if you deny it, you're either ignorant, stupid, or believe that there's some kind of agenda behind the push towards environmentalism, conservation, and alternative fueling.
what's sad is your long-winded vague tirade about your thoughts on the thread topic, and you want to call me a troll? haha... good one
That is the real crux of the issue. The problem is not the GW deniers, all 3 or so of them. The problem is those who already insist that GW is caused by man and are wielding that dogma around as if it's absolute and undeniable truth. The only truth at this point is that we just don't know. There is valid science and there are good arguments on both sides of the issue but no science on the issue has come out as the definitive and final conclusion, yet.Originally posted by: Doc Savage Fan

What I have found is that most who have no interest in science as it applies to the creation/evolution debate because of their faith, are the first ones to pull "the science is still out" card out when trying to convince themselves that God would never allow such a thing as GW to occur, man-made or otherwise.

nevermind, then. i guess you're not conspiracy theorists... you're just dumb. global warming isn't a religion haha
What you have is a theory. A theory that is only complete when BELIEF is added to it. Religions are founded on beliefs, the joke is on you.
actually, global warming is real. people believe the earth is warming much like they believe that falling objects will eventually hit the ground. gravity exists, as does global warming.
religion cannot be proven by science. that's the difference for all you yo-yos who think global warming is a religion (i can't tell if you're stupid enough to actually believe that or if you think you're being funny).

Heh and ironically I find people who claim to be agnostic or non-religious excitedly jump in with the man made global warming faithful professing anybody who doesnt believe to be "deniers". Deniers is nothing but a label for the unfaithful. They either need to be converted or shouted down and eliminated from the noise about MMGW.

Glad to hear, but my observation was in no way my personal indictment of your own beliefs, I tried to make it generic. Just saying I hear it often in debate from people like those I described above. Most people imo have a healthy balance between faith and science and can judge things for themselves. At least I hope they do.

IMO trying to liken people who believe in science over faith, to some sort of "faith in itself - equal to a faith in God" is just never going to stick. It can be tried over and over again but it is just two totally different things. Someone who only believes in things they can see, touch, measure, and are tangible.. is exactly opposite of someone who believes in something based solely on the belief that whatever happens, good or bad, acknowledged or ignored, is God's will and that we can do nothing to thwart his master plan for humanity.

How about that some of us are just plain ole doubters.
Some of us who over 18 yrs old have seen science change it's mind many times. Who's to say that they have it right this time?
Those that are convinced of MMGW haven't helped their cause by over-hypering the predictions, only to scale them down later etc. Then there's the tendancy to sweep problems with teh supporting data under the rug - just ignore it if it doesn't support MMGW
It's a theory, let 'em keep working on it. But please stop the "OMGz the sky is falling, we have to act YESTERDAY. ARRGH it's too late!!!!" fear-mongering type BS.

So...do you believe that it's realistic to compare Gravity to MMGW theory as "equals" in the area of scientific certainty? Is there some information that you want to share that backs up this assertion?
I asked a direct question...hoping for a direct answer.

there's a difference between being someone who is still on the fence about it (plain ole doubter) as opposed to someone who outright denies it. even then, you've gotta have a reason for the doubt. what's your reason.......

If not, I'll be starting a whole slew of threads with titles like, "Democrats: Wouldn't being a democrat make you stupid or ignorant?" or "Tree Hugging Hippies: Wouldn't the world be a better place if they were all dead?"
Am I missing something when it comes to what is acceptable and what is not?
