Gizmodo found a 4th generation iPhone?

It's the same one as reported earlier by engadget. Engadget also showed some past picture of the iPad from Apple's lab and a similar device can be seen in the upper right corner of this blurred picture. Looks legit to me.

And this phone looks amazing! I just wonder what hardware upgrade it has... Can't wait!

I find Gizmodo's article on why they think it is real pretty compelling, but I can't figure out why they don't show a pic of the processor...I mean if it is an ARM, isn't that a little suspicious (assuming the rumors of Apple using an A4 proc were true)?

They're REALLY milking this story now. Every hour or so they post a new story about how they found it and include a single new shot with it. Quit with the BS, show a shot of an attempted boot up, take it apart, put it back together again, and try reinstalling the OS. You could do that in a night.

This is the Gizmodo way. Expect to see this up until a week after the next iPhone launches.

It's still not clear to me whether the back is plastic or glass. Overall I like the new design but it seems to me that the symmetry of it will make it even trickier to intuitively know which way it's oriented when you pull it out of your pocket. Still, I like it and I'll probably get my firm to buy me one . . .

This is the same phone that Engadget had on their page last night, but which they claimed was a knockoff. Today Engadget has changed their mind and updated their article from yesterday. They have a new article up now.

Gizmodo is going to milk it for a long time. It's probably a PR thing from Apple. No tech details are provided except for physical details.

You have to remember if it is real that it's a preproduction model. So all those seems wills probably go away.

I'm not liking that micro-sim thing.

I like the new design. I'm just hoping to see a different shade of aluminum on the sides, maybe a Unibody feel to it. But I do like the 'brick' design. One thing that drives me nuts about the 3g/3gs is the bezel on the front, I hate it.

I'm thinking the micro-sim thing wont go away.

I really like the look of it and I don't normally like the look of Apples small devices. (So I guess this means it wont look like this :\)

I have to say, if this is real.. .combined with iPhone OS 4... it's an actually compelling reason for me to get one.

Unfortunately, I refuse to switch to ATT (or Verizon) until I'm forced to because Sprint goes belly up (hopefully, that won't happen).

I really like the design from an aesthetic perspective

OS4 has most of what I want that I am 90% sure if this ends up being the 4G that I'll buy it. It would be 99% if it was going to be added to Verizon because that is my only qualm at the moment.

Verizon has gone downhill. From a customer service standpoint. My office got me an iPhone and pay for it, so I removed my line from the bill and now only have my Wife's account. A total of 3 times now we've had to call because they were blatently ripping us off on the bill and I had to go through 2 or 3 reps before they would SEE that and correct the charges.

The other side of it is she hated her phone (BB Storm), she lived with it for a year and finally got fed up with it enough to switch to ATT unless verizon was willing to keep her. First call told us to screw off, only thing "they could do right now" was ship her a warranty replacement for the blackberry. We told them it was already her second one, and the second one didnt solve any problems. it still drains the battery ridiculously fast, freezes, takes years to load apps if it doesnt lock up while loading them. They said it would be $125 to break contract and terminate. I said fine, i'll think about it. We thought about it, and we deemed it worthit to drop the money, to drop verizon so she could get an iphone and not be frustrated with her phone all the time. So i called back the next day and said, this is it guys, we are GOING to pay the $125 and buy an iphone and go with ATT if you dont help us get a new phone and quit hanging your unsatisfied 10 year customer out to dry. Finally they let her get a Droid Eris. She's much happier with the phone, but i'm still unhappy with verizon.

I know customer satisfaction changes from customer to customer, and your experience might be just dandy, but right now Verizon is on the top of my S-List if you know what i mean.

Back on topic, to Tegeril's earlier post, i noticed in another article they said the phone was blank, nothing installed, and the current version of iphone OS wouldnt work on it (convenient), so it basically wouldnt turn on anyway. That maybe why they never showed it on.

I have had both but nothing resembling a smartphone on VZ. So I don't have much customer service experiences. I had some billing issues with ATT that were addressed immediately (couldn't port my number so gave me a new number which I was billed for and got double billed). That was probably the Apple Store's fault though. I still have a verizon family plan I pay and an Iphone plan for myself. Phone is great but it is frustrating how much trouble I have just streaming radio to my phone all day. It will literally cut out 6-8 times an hour.

I liked the design and some of the features they are saying there. Hopefully my company will upgrade our phones once these come out...we've had our iPhones for just short of 2 years now...so an upgrade would be welcome.

Ive never tried streaming anything all day to my phone on 3G, though i would imagine anything streaming over a Wireless WAN network could be spotty on any network, regardless of carrier.

What I have streamed has all worked flawlessly though. Prolly an hour here or there of radio, some police scanner feeds. All fine, but like i said, not for anything more than an hour or so.

Apple knows what they're doing. This is just marketing.

We all know Apple releases new iPhones every year, and the iPhone #4 is just a couple months off, so it's not like it's going to be a surprise - gee, it has more features? REALLY?? 😀 Today we're hearing about the HTC Incredible, a monstrous 1GHz phone that's better than the Nexus, and lo and behold the new iPhone gets leaked. Which never gets leaked. Which never EVER gets leaked. It's controlled, and it's advertising, and they are GOOD at it - if you were thinking about an Incredible today, now you're thinking, gee whiz, why don't I just wait a couple months for this killer new HD iPhone with a front webcam and new design? Very clever, Apple, very clever...

Also, there's hope for Verizon - the leaked model has a Micro-SIM card, and if Verizon sells one for the iPad for data, then that'd be pretty tight with Skype. Maybe that's why they added multi-tasking - a workaround for their AT&T contract so you could get one on Verizon fairly hassle-free 😉

i really like the new look, but doesnt matter since i always have my phone in a case. Want it to be ment when i want to sell it ya know.
