Fausto1,
a) I was honing in on just the Boberfett comment. Snide comments from the peanut gallery outside the state of Minnesota aren't needed
b) Why are you typing like, you're typing to me? I'm not the one who started this thread and I am no longer a Minnesota Resident. (I shed my Minnesotan residency in 1989. But, I have lived in this state for 28 years.)
c) Nope, I never said hipocracy and I don't believe that the Executive branch is fully responsible for the condition of the economy. However, isn't it amazing how voodoo economics killed the inflation? Isn't it amazing that since the Carter Administration, our inflation rates have been quite low? If I recall, and I could be wrong here, WEREN'T THE HOUSE, SENATE, AND EXECUTIVE BRANCH ALL IN THE HANDS OF THE DEMOCRATS WHEN INFLATION HIT THAT 18%? (And they had been for awhile.)

My point was that inflation in the Carter era has pretty much zero bearing on whether or not one should or should not be voting for Mondale this time around. I don't know why you even bothered to type that bit out....hence my comment. Like I said before, what's important is how Mondale will vote on the issues as a Senator, not what was going on while he was VP.

I probably typed that out because an old dog never learns new tricks. His views on the economy probably haven't changed. We can only go back to the last office he held and his viewpoints then. (And what Minnesotans have heard from him since being out of office.) The guy will vote for every tax increase and his track record on how to help the economy have been proven failures.

Rilescat,
This is not Paul Wellstone. Mondale is not even close to Wellstone. They both may be liberal, but that's where their similarities stop.

That's right 0roo0roo. I see you're well informed on the candidates too! You must not have read that Coleman 5 years ago was a Democrat. He rethought some of his viewpoints and switch to become a Republican. Coleman is basically a moderate POLITICIAN running under the Republican ticket.

It's one of the problems with being from Minnesota: We haven't had a good candidate run for any office in a long time.

We seem to breed hardcore pinkos or religious nuts. And Coleman, we didn't even breed that carpetbagger, who can't even decide which party he wants to be part of.

Politically, I'm ashamed to be a Minnesotan. I rarely actually pay attention to issues these days, because it's only choosing the lesser of two evils. My vote is always a protest vote.

3rd party or bust!

Nice intelligent answer there, zealot-boy.

Just keep sucking Democrat dick, that's how they like it.

That's exactly how it is in California. If the Ca. Republican Party would pull their heads from their collective ass?s maybe they'd be able to oust Feinstein, Comrade Boxer and Gray Davis. But no, they run Big Haired Frat Boys (Campbell against Boxer) Closet Queens (Huffington against Feinstein) and Corrupt Fundie Businessmen (Simple Simon against Davis). You'd think a State who produced the greatest Republican President since Lincoln would be able to nominate a Good Candidate to run against the Demos . They did have a good one running for the Republican Party Gubernatorial nomination in Riordan but he was to Moderate for the Hysterical Right of California and they selected that idiot Simon who is going to get crushed by Davis.

My dad can beat up both your dads. 😛

he will vote how ever he is told by the democratic leadership of the senate, so when the democratic senate leadership needs to count how many votes they will have on XYZ bill, they will always know that W. Mondale will vote however they tell him to

Give me one reason to vote for Mondale. I don't have one.

I will give you 2, his last name is not Clinton or Jackson

News flash: most of Bush's cabinet and various advisors also last held office before you were born. If you're not informed enough to know why or why not to vote for someone, why don't you just stay the hell away from the polls next Tues, k?
Wow... seeing as not even MONDALE knows what MONDALE stands for... he doenst have to put forward a platform. He gets the sympathy vote from Wellstone supporters.

Seems like a tossup to me since his opponent can't seem to decide what party he belongs to.

Hmmmmmm, I'm thinking Rilescat........ Thinking very hard.............

Well, he was the Vice President when inflation rose to 18%.

Well, that's not a reason to vote for him. Nope, I ain't got a reason for you to vote for him.

Wait a sec......we're not allowed to blame Bush for the current economic mess, but it's OK to blame the vicepresident for an economic mess 25 year ago? Smells like hypocrisy to me.
Typical. Seeing as the economy is growing (without the use of forged numbers a la Clinton), I cant say that there is anything to BLAME on him.

Ture, Mondale was not the jackass in charge when inflations jumped a jumbo jet. He also hasnt won an election on his own two feet. Every position he has held or been re-elected to was appointed because a vacancy occured. The one time he actually DID run on his own merits... he lost 525-13. I think that is probably THE BIGGEST trouncing in US history. Hell, I'll go out on a limb here w/o checking the numbers... it WAS THE BIGGEST ASS WHOOPING EVER AFFORDED A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE!!

ah, a self hating republican. a little self knowledge can hurt can't it😛

Why are all of you people throwing away your votes with a 3rd party? Hey I'm all for representation but a vote for any other party (at least in MN) besides Republican, Democrat, and Independent is basically a waste.

I will be voting for Coleman come Tues. because I feel he is the best candidate on either side, and the memorial on TV made me realize that even more. He sat there while being booed constantly, he didn't yell back or become mad. That is class. Imagine if Coleman would have started campaigning on Wed.... oh my god I don't even want to know what people would be doing right now.

On another note, his wife is pretty damn hot for an older chick! (Coleman's that is)

On yet another note, watch out for Penny on election day, I have a feeling he is going to surprise some people...

Growing? Really? Do you have a 401k? Stocks? Annual bonus? Anything? I don't give a flying rat's ass if someone says the economy is growing...the reality is that Joe Average Citizen just got his nest egg shoved up his butt and some stupid article claiming a stellar 3% growth rate won't change that. Furthermore (and more to the point) none of this has anything to do with Bush or Mondale. That was my point, in case you missed it.

True, Mondale was not the jackass in charge when inflations jumped a jumbo jet. He also hasnt won an election on his own two feet. Every position he has held or been re-elected to was appointed because a vacancy occured. The one time he actually DID run on his own merits... he lost 525-13. Again....WTF does this have to do with the price of tea in China? How badly he got whupped (very...for sure) or how he arrived in office is totally irrelevant to his candidacy for the Senate. I think it's great that you apparently derive so much pleasure from a 20 year-old republican victory, but it has little or no bearing on the outcome of this race.

And Geraldine Ferraro became a FOX news contributor. It all evens out in the end.
