Ok....the guy is ancient, he held his last office before I was born, he turned down the very seat that Wellstone was elected to (12 years ago I might add)....

Give me one reason to vote for Mondale. I don't have one.

I don't want to vote for Mondale, I want to vote for the better candidate. At this point, no one has told one thing about this old f*rt that is even worth thinking about voting for him. At this point, I am going Coleman all the way.

News flash: most of Bush's cabinet and various advisors also last held office before you were born. If you're not informed enough to know why or why not to vote for someone, why don't you just stay the hell away from the polls next Tues, k?

Are you sure you want the uninformed or easily swayed to stay home on election day? I mean it might be a little embarrassing when the Democrats don't get any votes come Tuesday.

Since we are not from Minnesota gives us one good reason why we should give a flying fsck whether you vote for him or not?You guys in Minnesota have more important things to worry about..like Mosquito abatement

Hey Pard.....I am asking TO BE INFORMED....the guy just got nominated TODAY...and since he hasn't been in office in 20 YEARS, I don't know anything about him....

So why don't you tell me something GOOD about the guy so I can make an informed decision.

Maybe they could get Mankind or Hulk Hogan to run for the office on an Independant ticket!

Yeah, but Bush's cabinet is experienced. The key term is "experienced." So, tell me, Fausto1, who would be a better candidate for the Secreatary of Defense, the head of the CIA, etc. C'mon, I'm waiting on your reply. The point is that we have some "kick-a$$" cabinet members currently in place that are doing a fabulous job. Regardless of the current perception of President Bush, we have a lot of heavyweights that are doing a great job of running the various administrations - and none of them need to put some jizz on a blue dress to prove their point. 'Nuff said.

And neither would the Republicans as Ventura proved.

As one who remembers the last time Mondale held office, I can tell you this:

There is no good reason to vote for him.

I think Boberfett pretty much covered it for me. :p

Honestly, you have to think about how each would vote on various issues that are important to you. I hated the hell out of Cynthia McKinney, but I still voted for her (at least up to this year when we finally got a decent Democratic challenger into the primaries :D) because she generally voted the way I wanted her to despite being a loud-mouthed embarassment to our district. Decide where you stand on various issues, figure out where each of the candidates stands and then vote.

I was just looking at Coleman's website, and he doesn't seem to have a stance on anything as near as I can tell. He's apparently quite a juggler tho.

Hmmmmmm, I'm thinking Rilescat........ Thinking very hard.............

Well, he was the Vice President when inflation rose to 18%.

Even if he wins the seat, he will probably be an inert democrat. I could hear the democrat leadership now: Just say "Aye" when we do, and say "Nay" when we do. Your very existence here means we will maintain the majority. You don't even have to sponsor a bill, just sit here and look like an important elder statesman.

If by "experienced" you're trying to say "out of touch and permanently stuck in a cold war mentality", then you and I are in clear agreeance.

Thanks for sharing in this thread, but the difference between your comments and Boberfett's are...................Boberfett is from this state. YOU AREN'T. Thanks for attempting to play the Minnesota politics game, though.

Wait a sec......we're not allowed to blame Bush for the current economic mess, but it's OK to blame the vicepresident for an economic mess 25 year ago? Smells like hypocrisy to me.

If you'd actually read what wrote, you'd see that I made a point about voting based on issues rather than names. Pertinent regardless of what state you happen to live in.

And for the record, if you don't want to hear from those who aren't MN residents, why did you ask the entire ATOT community for advice?

Again: determine where the candidates stand and vote your conscience. You don't need a bunch of opinionated nerds telling you how to vote. Pull your head out and go do some reading.
