Bush is pwning Kerry silly

Among those most likely to vote, the Republican ticket of Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) holds a lead of 51 percent to 46 percent over Kerry and Sen. John Edwards (news - web sites), with independent Ralph Nader (news - web sites) receiving 1 percent.

Among all registered voters, Bush-Cheney led the Democratic ticket 51 percent to 43 percent, a modest bounce in support since early August, when Kerry-Edwards led 48-45 percen

"There's something I don't like about Kerry ? too wishy-washy," said Don Dooley, a 54-year-old conservative Democrat from Grand Prairie, Texas, who is leaning toward Bush.

That's one poll, and the results you cited show a differential of 5 points, in a survey with a 2.5-point margin of error. I wouldn't call that "pwnage," particularly since it comes immediately after the RNC.

President Bush is indeed holding a small but meaningful lead at this point, and I think the election is his to lose. It appears it could still go either way, however.

Kerry was polling at 3% in Iowa early in the primaries. He was also down by 14% in the senate race in 1996.

Hahahaha, sorry, but you shouldn't use "Fox" and "news" in the same sentence unless it's, "Fox is anything but fair and balanced news, it only panders to the right and boy does it pander well." Also, there's a little less than 2 months left until the election. That's a lot of time for things to change, especially by the few percentage points you have all stated as the difference in the polls. It's just a matter of time until Bush goes a little to far with one of his "Bushisms" a la Boondock Saints and says, "We could kill everybody!"

The irony is that the latest Fox news poll has the race closer than all other polls. Go figure.

True, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was their intention. They might have done studies that determine that if they show the race as close, Bush will get more votes come election day. Most of the people who enjoy Fox News are conservative Republicans (at least I would have to believe that no true Democrat would find it un-biased) so maybe all the viewers see the polls are close and more go out and vote to make sure Kerry loses.........Sorry for the conspiracy theory, just popped in my head.

Why vote for kerry? Because he SAYS he is going to improve the economy, strenghten our military, destory bigotry, save the lower class, bring america together, Fight agenst terrorists, and bring our troops home.

The biggest Reasion im NOT voting for kerry is because he SAYS all these wonderful things, but how is he going to do it? Magic Pixie dust? (sorry for the minor flame).

Voting for kerry because "He's not bush" is the worst reasion ever. Study kerry's plans and his political history, then decide why you are voting for him, but please, vote for him because you believe he will do a better job then bush, not because he is not bush.

None of the major polls are reporting this statistic.

Are we looking at the advent of our first ESL troll? What a country!

Excuse me, your post earns you troll status. What kind of leftist polling site is that? Where's the Newsweek poll that came out after the Time poll that also showed a huge lead for Bush? Where's this week's ABC/Washington Post poll that showed a huge lead for Bush? If you're gonna use a link for "facts", at least find one that uses all the facts, not just the facts the support Kerry. F'ing troll!

Cogman, good post & I don't think its unreasonable to question whether Kerry's promises are election-slogans more than real goals. I don't think he has any pixie dust, either. (Reagan had some, Clinton had some). Kerry's a pathetic candidate, imho. But he HAS devoted his life to serving this country (even if it has been as a "liberal senatory from Mass." - haha)

As far as voting "against" bush (for "not-bush"); I think its justified where you believe the incumbent has done damage to your idea of what your country is all about and what it should be. The people in this camp are environmentalists, civil libertarians, doves, and fiscal conservatives, to name a few.

Wow...such bitterness and anger arising of abject ignorance.

Such a shame.

Did you even bother clicking the link to see a listing of ALL of the polls?

Well, a large chunk of politics is polling. This is asking people how they feel on any topics of interest. Basically, they asked people who watch Fox News if they would be more likely to vote if the polls were close. They responded, "Yes, if the race is close, we'll be more likely to vote." It was then my assumption, that most people who watch Fox News support Bush, and therefore, more people would vote for Bush if the polls were close.

Again, this is only conspiracy theory, nothing factual. But it's not that far-fetched, which is why it's fun to think about it, at least for me.

Settle down, Beavis.

Polls typically run about 2 weeks behind news events. What you're seeing now is the state of voters' minds from early last week.

Just wait until later this month when Kerry is back on top.

"A correct ways to write english . Get it , thank you"

HAHAHAHAHA, I'm sorry you can't understand what I'm writing, I wasn't an English major and I never learned how to write well. My guess is, that everyone else on the board who isn't ESL, understood despite my poor grammar. Understanding you is near impossible, so don't talk smack to me about it. Also, I don't understand why, when I tried to explain it to you nicely when you asked, you flamed me for it. Go ask a friend who speaks english to help you out, cause I'm done.
