Give me a positive reason as to why Obama should get another term

Wow. That seems to be evenly divided between stuff that happened without him and stuff that would be good reasons to vote against him. It's also weird to see all the "increased funding" since lefties are insisting that all new spending is actually because of leftover Bush programs like wars and tax cuts.

Repeal of DADT and he's doing a good job fighting terrorists, arguably better than Bush, are the only reason I can see to vote for him. But the chance that I'd vote for him, although admittedly slightly better than in 2008, is still almost nil. The only question is whether I'll vote against him, or against him AND his Republican opponent.

Here is a great quote for you that think Obama will win next year.

"The average consumer confidence index when a president running for reelection wins is 95. When they lose, it’s 76. Today the number is 55. "

Why are you trying so hard to convince us? If you're so confident, pick whichever goofball your party ends up nominating and support him or her. Your obsession with the President is of no consequence to anyone other than yourself.

Right or wrong, ProJo gets a heap of shit dumped on him in just about every thread for being a partisan hack. Not to name names, but there is obviously many partisan hacks on this forum from the other side of the spectrum. Maybe if each side kept their house in order, there would be less partisanship and screaming at the other side while turning a blind eye to your own.

So glad I don't belong to any party or am beholden to ideology, so much hypocrisy around here and in DC because of it.

Did you read that? What a load of shit! Here are a few examples:

Federal deficit shrank 8% year-on-year.
Job loss exploded under Bush, improves under Obama.
New jobless claims tumble.

yea, the references on that site wasn't exactly without bias.

Because the "Obamah gunna pay mah mortgage..." clowns who voted him in are still waiting for their paycheck

Anyone notice all the objections to Obamas failures are things he hasen't fixed yet that were fucked up by Bush?

It's going to take at least 10-15 years to climb out of the whole caused by the Economy crashing and from Congress spending like an 18 year old with a no limit Credit Card in a whore house.

I think Professor John gets a bad rap. I'd say a partisan hack is one who justifies or at least excuses behavior in his party that he attacks in the opposite party. Professor John is much more viewpoint-oriented, toward conservatism rather than to just not being a Democrat.

I wouldn't say he's a "hack"... which is why I said "shill".

That is pretty much what I meant, that is what I meant by my preface of "Right or wrong". I should have worded it more clearly, but my point stands: These heap of shit Team 1 heaps on someone from Team A for being a "hack", "shill", "blindy partisan", .etc, or whatever term applies and then ignores the fact that Team 1 has just as many or more rings very hollow to me.

Note: Team 1 == either side or party, goes both ways. I used the terms Term 1 and Team A to show no preference in ranking sides. ()🙂

Should there not be room for a minority opinion to be expressed here without all the bullshit heaped on that person?

Shill is better, in its original definition of one who barks or advocates for a particular party. I don't think anyone believes that Professor John will be voting Democrat any time soon. Since my chances of voting Democrat are only very slightly higher, I can't criticize him, although since I generally vote Libertarian I wouldn't qualify as a shill. Perhaps an anti-shill?

For my part, there's no ignorance of other hacks and shills.

Sure, but the hacks and shills won't let that happen.

Yes.

I think card-carrying Democrats and card-carrying Republicans are all shills, and far too often that results in the rejection of reason and common sense.

The bald eagle cannot fly with only the left-wing or only the right-wing.

Obviously that's true of all flight-capable birds, but its more apropos in this case to refer only to the bald eagle

The Obama administration has deported more illegals than the Bush admin did?
Thank god we didn't elect the Republican "Open Borders" McCain.

Obama can win if the Republicans do not present a decent challenger.

Carter was weak and RR offered something that was positive, especially regarding Iran.

Can the Republicans present someone that can offer a fresh perspective and state that the transparency/change failed, here is another alternative; lets try it.

Well put - I agree 100%. Certainly if the GOP can provide an appealing alternative the President will be out of luck. As yet it's not clear who that might be, however.

obama's biggest problem is that he tried to give the republicans what they wanted in a lot of areas thinking this would appeal to the middle. The problem is NO MATTER what obama does he will be hated more then any other democrat president for obvious reasons. Its pretty sad.

1. Republicans cant do any better.
2. Americans are fucking stupid and dont know enough to fix their problems themselves.

I hate what Obama has done, but no one is ever going to unfuck what he's fucked. I dont give a shit was Palin says.

And what "obvious reasons" are those? That the economy sucks, high unemployment, Obamacare?

Yeah all those plus the fact he's black. i know you hate it but there still is a large racist population in this country. I grew up in ohio so I've seen it first hand. People I knew swore there would be a race war and had that paranoid mentality that has been coined by republicans. I mean just look at spidey.

Obama doesn't deserve to be rewarded, but he'll win because the Republicans deserve to be punished for fucking up the country for most of the first decade of this century and then doing everything in their power to keep it from being fixed when they finally lost the reigns.
