In my experience:

Johns and Dereks are usually self-centered, untrustworthy jerks. Heathers are doormats who constantly make incredibly bad decisions. Bens are just all-around pompous braggart bastards. Scotts have a bad temper and stab you in the back without provocation. Can't think of any more at the moment.

And Amber.
I've known two Travises; one was kind of a jerk, the other was cool. The one Amber I knew was a mega-bitch.

Hmm, I didnt see the type of trend I expected, but I notice that most of us do have a name or two in mind that we have had a negative association with.

I was expecting to see a name that I considered common and shared a negative association with, instead I found that there are names mentioned that I either have no personal experience with, or have a positive oppinion of.

Nameism appears not to be universal.

Daniel.
I've never gotten along with anyone named daniel.. they're always some kind of hardass/hothead/likes to pick fights.
Ironically, my deadbeat dad's name was daniel.

I can't say I know of any. I have a positive view of the name of "Jennifer" however. Ever since I hit puberty I've noticed females named Jennifer (as opposed to males) have a remarkably high rate of physical attractiveness. Seriously, at my school there were multiple Jennifers that were insanely beautiful. Think of the many Jennifer celebrities. It's crazy.

it's like that movie jennifer 7. at anyrate, we have tons of hot jennifers in college and some fat ones too.

There are just tons of Jennifers overall. Agnostos just hasn't noticed the UGMOs.

Never ever trust anyone with the name Dick.

Speaking of that name, in my physics class last year, there was a mural painted by an ex-teacher. His name was Richard Less. We think he may have been made fun of a lot when he was younger.

I actually had a customer named Richard Head. :Q I'm betting he would not allow people to call him Dick.

Some parents just don't think when naming their kids

Reminds me of a true story from the book Freakonomics, there was a woman who named her child what was pronounced SHI-TEED. It was spelled Sh|thead. There were others too, what a great great book!

IMO, anyone who can't spell her name right. I say her because it is generally females who are named "uniquely"... generally by uneducated parents who just can't spell.

Except for the name Amber... everyone agrees she's a slut. I do too.
