I think you answered your own question. They aren't sane. Trump supporters are members of a cult, their beliefs don't require facts, rational reasoning, or even being grounded in reality. It really is that simple.

Welp...not to defend Giulani...but I’ve said for decades that “The Truth” is variable and depends on whose telling it...Everyone has their own version of “The Truth.”

That said, the slimy, sleazy fucks known as “The Trump Administration” seem to be dirtier than any “Al Capone” type mafia organization...maybe more like the Bratva?

Isn't that the fun of it, though? Alt-reality means you are unburdened with any need of facts. Hooray, we have our leader. A favorite quote of mine:

"Madness is rare in individuals - but in groups, parties, nations, and ages it is the rule." - Friedrich Nietzsche

But rejection of a need to be accountable doesn't put them in good graces with the media. When looked back on, this administration will be known as one that was consistently at odds with the media, at war with them. That won't look good, and rightly so. And anyone who jumps on their bandwagon is badly tainted.

From adolescence I've had a different notion than this of "the truth." To me, it's virtually iconic. Truth is not a meaningless concept at all. If "everyone has their own version" (your words, and a very loose idea at best), that doesn't negate the value of the concept one bit. Some people's sense of truth is far more interesting, meaningful, valuable, useful and intrinsically honest than that of other people's. Many if not most people have a very tenuous relationship with the concept of the truth. They visit it tangentially, only on occasion and situationally. Honorable people don't dismiss the idea of truth or sell it out for money or any kind of false sense of vindication.

Rudy meant that two versions of an account may be given. As an example Trump may say one thing and Comey about the same event and Mueller being the enemy of Trump and Comey's friend the "truth" will be whatever Comey says.

Of course that's bull because it's expected that recollections will vary and it require much more that "he said" to hang anyone. That's truth but Rudy doesn't want you to think about that.

Of course...there are usually two (or more) sides to any story, with both sides representing their side as “The ABSOLUTE UNVARNISHED TRUTH!”, and while there may not be any “mis-truths” in their version, it still might not be as accurate as they believe...or want you to believe. Sometimes, “The Truth” isn’t truthful...and, of course, facts aren’t really facts at all, just mis-directions.

Agreed, the President and Giuliani are both clowns, however Giuliani just misspoke. He was trying to say X persons truth is not the truth.
Again Giuliani explained it real poorly but that was his obvious attempt.

There's often an objective truth -- Trump can lie about crowd sizes, global warming, media reports or trade deficits all he wants, but that won't change the fact that he's observably wrong. It's just that some events mean different things to different people, and you can put a spin on those.

Having said that: it feels like Giuliani was at once misspeaking and genuinely wanting to convey "truth isn't truth." Don't believe what your senses, logic and reason tell you; believe only Trump.

Lie as much as you can and Unleash Major provocation and Aggression upon anyone who is not a white supremacist or a Russian all the while partying on the tax payers dime.. who cares about them anyways.

This is why those who suffer, who have pain they can't help feeling, those who are driven to know why they suffer are the only ones who can ever truly get free of it.

Freedom from the feeling that one is worthlessly evil requires the death of the notion of evil and that requires, also, the death of all we were taught is sacred.

This is the reason, of course, that the Christian Religion is sacred because it tells us that we have been forgiven of our sins. For some, their faith in the love of God for them becomes their love of Him and all that he is. It's the same for Islam also because if everything that happens happens by the will of God there can't actually be any evil. In psychology, the roots of the origin of pain can be consciously relived and one can consciously remember and see though as an adult far removed from the original trauma, the lies one was forced to believe. To grieve is to heal and the truth is that we have suppressed our grief. We have been told the lie that grief is self pity, just another avoidance devise.

What I thought was interesting and surprising that chuck didn't call him out on it, was the claim Rudy made that it wasn't a representative of the Russian government they were meeting with but but rather a woman with a Russian accent. Of course that totally ignores the fact that the email received by Jr was titled/framed as something like, "on behalf of the Russian government we would like to help you and have some dirt you might be interested in".

Honestly that can be said for anything. If there's just a hint of narrative or bias for anything, you're going to hear everything but the whole truth. Hell even research results have lied to me I couldn't count how many times over the years.
