Nice dodge. How about affording them the same rights granted to all criminal defendants under the jurisdiction of this country?

You know- a trial with evidence & witnesses. Just slapping a Terrarist! label on them isn't really much of a substitute other than for gullible authoritarian fringe-whacks.

Tell them that the Confederate flag is ISIS's new logo and that "born again" means "pious Muslim" in English and it's unlikely anyone will even notice the turbans (or facial hair) after a month or two...^_^

They'd likely even be an especially big hit around Christmas - after all, every picture of the Magi I've ever seen shows them with long beards and usually even sporting turbans.😀

Close, but not quite. Perhaps I shouldn't be leaking the plan, but... we're expecting to have greater success with the fundamentalist Muslims and are hoping they'll out-reproduce the fundamentalist Christians more quickly than the latter could themselves be converted.😛

huh? I'm not sure what you're trying to say with your knee jerk. I advocated for taking accused terrorists to trial before locking them up for life. What does that have to do with "moving them into my house"?

It's the stupidity of what people seem to think happens at Gitmo. For some reason not charging people and putting them there, which as I pointed out earlier is far better [for the prisoner] than being stuck in solitary in a prison in the US, seems to make sense. It doesn't matter that we do just fine when we put them on trial here.
 
I love how scared people are of big bad GITMO inmates being locked up inside the US.

Gitmo is way different than any of those cases, the reason being that the govt is way, way short of admissible evidence against many of the detainees or they would have been put on trial long ago.

The Bushistas knew they were fucking over the prospects of future prosecution in authorizing the methods used. They knowingly put political stuntsmanship above the law when they created this wretched blight on our national character in the first place.

Stand them up in a court of law, civilian or military & make a case against them. If that can't be done, turn 'em loose. It's what the Constitution demands regardless of the obfuscations or consequences.

They cheered even louder when we perpetrated naked aggression & invasion against Iraq.

The fact that this total trust in authoritarian propaganda is from people who normally claim the govt is incompetent or lying in damned near every other respect tells us just how effective fear mongering can be.

Bull freaking shit, the US legal system can handle this. One of the absolute saddest outcomes of the entire war on terror is our fear of using US courts to try cases. We missed an opportunity to demonstrate to the fucked up parts of the world what the rule of law truly means and in the process squandered our moral authority.

Call me crazy, but if someone slandered my name in public and caused me to no longer be able to obtain employment or place of residence, would the slander-er be held liable? Seems like our government should cough up some sort of compensation to them if this were the case.
