Girlfriend's parked car totaled last night

We heard the rev of an engine, screeching tires and then a large crash followed by the hissing sound of a ruptured radiator.

Question: why would you slam on the breaks to avoid a parked car? Steering wheel > brakes

In a accident like this, can you sue the drivers to recover the damages... the insurance nevers pay enough money back to get an equal car replacement.

that sucks. i hope those kids get punished and have to repay the entire value of the car.

two weeks ago, someone crashed into our parked car. it wasn't totaled; the driver door was basically destroyed but that's about all. the idiots didn't leave a note or anything. i guess it's better if you have an individual upon which to place the blame than to have to keep wondering who the idiot was who hit your car (and are hoping that they continually feel guilt for not living up to their actions).

If the Altima hit the Corolla hard enough to turn it 90*, then it was definately going about 50 because BOTH cars are facing the wrong direction.

I had a Side mirror smashed, a front fender scratched, and the front glass window of the car cracked by like a baseball and no one took responsibility for their actions...

That's a lot of dishonest people out there.

Anybody know what that white sqare thing is that is exposed by the bumper damage in this pic?

It's a vent.

For what though? I've seen it on other cars as well that were missing their bumpers.

Allows air to escape when you shut the trunk.

Are you sure it was the "Passenger" that left the scene? Probably was the drunk driver and he let his buddy take the fall...
