The adjuster said that it had been totaled TWICE in its life! :Q This did not affect the value of the settlement, however. We knew about the one she was involved in (rear ended at a light) but the PO must have also had the car totaled. None of these showed up on carfax.

The speed limit is 25. He claimed to have been doing about "30." I'm guessing 60+ is more likely.

Good for you!! That will go a long ways for a decent replacement. I shudder to think if either of you had been near her car at the time of the accident.

Duct Tape, Burlap Sacks and bailing wire. You can fix o do anything with the power of those three. You could go to the moon if you wanted to.

No way, not with that little damage. I'd say 30-40MPH.

Nice you got a good amount of money from it...

I'de estimate around 80MPH, actually... but then they hit the corner, breaked HARD (see tire streaks in one of those pics) and hit maybe 30-40mph.

Heh, I didn't look at all the pics...just a couple of the back of the Corolla. I was basing my estimate on what speed it looked like they actually hit:eek:

Yeah, there was NO WAY he was doing 30 and left those kind of skid marks PLUS hit the other car that hard.

definately not 30, but 80 is too high I think.. would have been more damage. probably more like 50. GL w/ gettin a new car tho.. this recently happend to me.. but on the highway (http://snipid.net/accident/ if you want to see). my car was totaled as well (damage is seen on the inside of the trunk.. where the bondo from the PO's accident crumpled), but I ened up buying a new car. I hate stupid idiot drivers.

glad to hear that they gave you a decent settlement for the car.

I hope that your gf can find a $3000 car that is in as good of shape as her Corolla was.
