But this is the fvcked up part...now that i know i can date her, she's totally lost her appeal to me. I don't even care if i date her or go out with her. I know i COULD have had it.

You obviously enjoy spending time with girl #2 (A.K.A freshman) so go with your heart and your will probably be happier with that decision. Go for the freshman g/f, if you like her. This new girl, besides being a coworker (bad!), still has issues with her ex b/f, and seems somewhat lukewarm on going out with you. That's a recipe for disaster.
agreed here, and always go with whoever you have FUN with, i hate people who are in miserable relationships and dont take the time to sit back and let it all out. the way i see it, if anyone is ever "the one", she should also be practically your best friend that you can talk about anything with,
