I would counter sue her for polluting the fountain. God knows if she had a load in her pants.

To be fair she has a constitutional right to bring her grievances before a judge. It's what makes our system so awesome, but unfortunately but you get the crap that goes along with that right.

Turns out Marrero's been out on $7,500 bail since 2009, after being charged with running up more than $5,000 in purchases on a co-worker's credit card. No wonder she had a lawyer handy.



Marrero's next court date is April 21, and she's facing about six months of house arrest and electronic monitoring, according to the Reading Eagle.

This bitch was on Inside Edition today and she almost laughed at herself during her interview. Then she started to "cry" about her horrible experience while she said "Texting and walking, take it from me, it's dangerous" what a dumb bitch.
 
It's ridiculous that she's suing.

1) She was in a public place, so there's no reasonable expectation of privacy
2) You couldn't easily identify her in the blurry video
3) She obviously doesn't mind if people identify her, or she wouldn't be suing or going on TV!

On the flip side, I also have texting disable purely on a financial principle. I refuse to pay outrageous prices (compared to a voice call) to send 255 character text messages. I just won't do it.

...though I now have the Google Voice app on my iPhone for free basic text. It won't do landscape keyboard and is difficult to use (probably intentional to discourage over-use and save $$), but it comes through in a pinch. I haven't disabled native text messages because I want it to work in an emergency when someone needs to send something important and they don't know how else to reach me. I still wish stupid retailers and other services would stop assuming it's OK to send text messages. AT&T charges even for incoming messages.

It's funny, I remember reading that it actually costs NASA less per kB to send data to the ISS (or maybe it was deep space probes and stuff like that) than major cellular providers charge for texting. Text messages are actually sent in the extra space of control protocols (that's why the character limit). It costs them nothing to send text messages. Nothing.

I stay on the phone for hours, mostly in silence, with my brother in California on the other end. Even a brief phone call can use more data traffic than millions of text messages. If AT&T wants to reduce data rates (and possibly brain cancer, j/k), they'd introduce free texting. When AT&T or Verizon makes the decision to do this for ALL CUSTOMERS, the other provider will be forced to follow suit.
