I don't know if you're serious or not, but I agree with that statement. If you live in the US, you should speak english.

That's great, the language she was speaking really has nothing to do with whether or not should have been arrested.

no, the point is that this country's official language is english, and if you come here and dont bother learning how to speak to the majority of the population then misunderstanding and problems will happen.

That being said, police officers who are going into a neighborhood should either no some spanish, or at least have one officer along that does....

If not arrested, lots of hours of public service. LOTS.

Oh, bullsh!t. Neither of them should have been arrested for anything. If kids were arrested for every stupid thing like this, the entire country would be in jail.

Well when parents start bucking up and actually raising them right and disciplining them correctly when kids do stupid shiot like this in the first place, we wouldn't have that problem. 🙂

It goes a long way in building a Stronger and Safer America.....

She should clearly be considered a terrorist under the PATRIOT Act, and be sent on a one-way trip to Gitmo. We don't need her like here in Americal, Land of the Free!

While I agree, unfortunately, water balloons leave no mark and cause no damage. As such, they can not be classified as assualt. Only a visible mark can be. She threw a rock, hit someone, injured them, and left a mark. If it had been a 30 year old man doing it to another man just for throwing a water balloon the same response would incur from the police if caught.

While agree, the treatment of the girl is ecessive and unwarranted, she DID commit a crime by law. It matters not her age. Having a water balloon thrown at you or being called names and verbal teasing does not constitute self defense.

However, if she was to prove there was a chance that the intended other child, the 9-year old, was trying to phsycally cause harm in court and prove it, then she can claim self defense. The problem then is if that is proved then the 9-year old boy is now the criminal and would be treated as such.

This is why you shouldn't call 911 UNLESS IT'S AN EMERGENCY. Cops more often then not respond poorly to situations, especally if you get a bad one to respond to the offense. The parents of the girl should have just returned the boy to his parents and offered to pay the medical bill if they wanted. That would have been the end of the story.

QFT. And water balloon <> rock.

it also sounds racist. the guys read the rights to the girl and her mother in english when they didn't speak english well. that's wonderful.
How else were they supposed to read it?

I do not believe that the USA has an official language.

You are correct, there is no official language.

IMO there should be, but that's an entirely different debate.

You've never been pegged in the face with an under-inflated waterbaloon???? Those fvckers don't break. They sting like a BITCH. Stretched rubber with the energy of a few ounces of water hurling as fast as some asswipe can throw it can do some major damage.

From a teenager or older with an ARM... not a frikking 9-year old boy. And that's if they double up the balloon to make it harder to break. I doubt that 1) the water balloon in question wouldn't break easily 2) would leave a mark 3) a 9 year-old kid has an arm strong enough to throw a water balloon of any type hard enough to leave a mark. a rock, yes, but not a water balloon. If he HAD left a mark, I have a feeling both would have gone to JD.

maybe i should just pity your narrowmindedness.

Who said the water was cold? It's april in California.

This is an English speaking country. Anyone who doesn't have at least minimal proficiency doesn't fit in here. It's not the cops fault the girl and her family are uneducated.

When I was a kid around that age, I remember playing a game to see who could throw a rock the highest. One time, I threw it a good 80 feet in the air and about 125 feet away and it accidently dropped and hit a small girl in the head. Being a little kid, I got scared, ran home, and hid. The girl and her parents came by and I got chewed out big time (obviously, because the girl was bleeding a good bit before they bandaged her).

I was grounded. No assault charges filed.

It's obvious the fvckers (i.e. the cops who arrested her and the DA who is filing charges) needs to be burned at the stake for this. What a bunch of cowardly incompetent asswipes.

Good thing the girl didn't throw a rock at police or she'd be dead right now and her mother would only have 4 bunnies, I mean children to raise.

BTW, I feel you should know english if you're going to live in America and want to avoid misunderstandings & such.

Ok... my assumption was fu--ed up... but I think you get my point? When you come to this country, you KNOW the majority of people will be speaking english, and if you want to interact normally in society you need to lurn it gud YO

Yes, I figured I should have looked that up first but I said f--k it, I figured the point was made.... It is obviously THE language of the Us, despite others spoken here.... other than isolated regions , and different accents 😛

how do we know it wasn't cold water? it doesn't really matter. he shouldn't have been screwing around with her in the first place.

i think you're mixing up education with knowledge. I know many, many well educated people who don't speak much english. it doesn't make them stupid. as a matter of fact, my mother learned english as her second language. didn't stop her from being successful.

no, it's not the cops fault they don't speak english, but it's their fault for taking away a little girl from her parents for 5 days. i don't know what i'd do if my little girl was taken away from me for even 1 day. makes me sick to think about it.
