Ginrich is no conservative. Cap n' Trade, individual mandate, admires FDR (think his face should go up on Mt Rushmore LOL), won't cut anything, just another big government republican who thinks he can run "big government" better than the democrats.

No thanks.

Yep, in the GOP, a candidate for president wanting to run the government better is considered a bad thing.

Inevitable.

Romney is the only one that stands any chance whatsoever since he is not intensely unlikeable, fucking batshit crazy, or of questionable mental ability.

And his experience as a leveraged buyout asset stripper makes him a perfect candidate for the top .001%.

He's, uhh, sympathetic to their goals...

Unflattering segment largely on Gingrich. Can start at 10:00, or 9:00 for a little more, or 5:15 for a larger story.

It's about various scams of the 'Tea Party' types, finding ways to have them spend on what they think is a 'movement'.

Includes how Gingrich is mainly about 'scams to take the money of right-wing suckers'.

For example, people donating to his campaign, which hires... Gingrich's vendor company.

Also constant plugging for his books and other media products. Piece also includes 'Tea Party' scams such as the 'Tea Party HD' channel being sued by investors.

I'm quite certain that republican voters don't waste their time watching the Rachel Maddow show.

I saw a political cartoon the other day to the effect---Here Mr. and Mrs. Everyman and his wife are watching the Republican debates, and the comment is, " I wish the GOP would quit running political commercials for the democrats."

Which is largely true, because the 2012 GOP field for POTUS is too heavily weighted to appeal to only the extreme right wing of the GOP. And true to right wing GOP values, women like Sarah Palin and Michelle Backmann are not worthy of real consideration. And after that the winnowing process starts.

As Gov Perry has proved he is a intellectual fly weight and freezes up because he has only slogans. Now Herman Cain has past sexual abuse scandals, and has a totally nutty
999 flat tax plan. As he tries to make the transition from right wing radio hosts to viable candidate without an iota of real political experience. As Romney, the incredible plastic man of 2008, again tries to appeal to the extreme right wing of the GOP in a brand new designer box. And again stays as the man to beat in the GOP Primary.

But the thing to note, as the flyweight candidates slip, suddenly the man ignored, namely Newt suddenly starts to look good. But sadly for a man of Newt's abilities, Newt does not have what it takes to be a leader. Newt always is and was an idea man and somewhat of a bomb throwing anarchist, always challenging the system with a brand new idea each week. The problem is all of Newts ideas are contradictory and lead nowhere. Its why Newt failed as speaker of the house and left government over a decade ago, after he lead the GOP to disaster. As for the personal character of Newt, he does not have a shred of human decency.

But in closing, the GOP POTUS nomination process is all screwed up. The GOP needs to front load its candidates to appeal to the mainstream GOP voter rather than its 25% or so extreme right wing. As it is, I think John Huntsman is the only viable candidate the GOP has in a rather uniformly inept set of candidates.

It's funny watching the cycle repeat itself. Candidate is bottom of the polls = gets no media attention = freedom to espouse unapologetic conservative views = gets more traction in the party = gets more liberal media attention = adopting liberal views to placate media = losing all support = bottom of polls = repeat.

Can you provide us an example of these candidates adopting liberal views to placate the media?

Bingo. The nomination is as good as his already.
