Gigapixel photos

I have settled on the goal of making the very first Terapixel image. After careful consideration I have decided that the subject will be the inside of a darkened cave. It will be truely spectacular.

/me writes a small script to generate a 1TP all black image.

If it is similar in proportion to the 2.5GP image then they should be about 3GB each using jpeg compression.

huh? 1 gigapixel, 24-bit color = 3GB without compression. A photo that res should compress pretty damn well.
