I remember Anandtech had an interesting article on this subject.. I found this link at the Inq this morning.. Seems to originate from a Japanese Gigabyte site, so it's translated with google. Check it out: linkage

It doesn't mention any benchmarks of increased performance or use of SATA2 though.. hopefully it will be reviewed soon 🙂
