Hi all,
I just put together a system for family friend. It's an athlon 64 3500+ system with a K8NF nforce4 MB.
The problem is when I boot into windows the ps2 KB doesn't work. If I go to the device manager it says the driver couldn't be started. I can manually uninstall the driver and then scan for hardware. XP then sees the keyboard, installs the driver, and everything works fine until I have to reboot. Then I have to do it all over again.
I am just using the generic 101\102 key MS keyboard driver. I am also using a USB mouse. There is nothing wrong with the KB. I have tried various bios settings including enableing\disabling usb KB support. This problem is annoying, and not a huge deal for me, but will be a huge issue for the owner of this system.
Does anyone have a better workaround for this problem? I may just have to wait for a new bios from Gigabyte, or maybe new drivers.
BTW, does nvidia have a unified nforce driver that supports the nforce4 chipset?
