it should be ready in about an hour, i cant wait. no more crappy local over the air music.

I chose XM over Sirrius because XM has more news stations. Sirrius only has CNN.

I love the SkyFi2. The ability to pause live radio and pick up where you left off is great.

Sirius has WAY more than CNN in terms of news channels. Sirius has the following news channels:

- CNN
- CNN Headline News
- Fox News
- Fox News Talk
- NPR Now
- NPR Talk
- C-Span
- ABC News Talk
- PRI
- CNBC
- Bloomberg
- BBC World Service
- World Radio Network
- CBC Radio One
- Premiere Plus
- Sirius Left
- Sirius Patriot

I have XM and really miss NPR (usually tune it in on the local OTA FM radio station on the drive home). XMPR is a pale, pale comparison to the real thing.

I guess everyone's into something different - I love NPR and wouldn't invest in a satellite provider without it. I'll take the NFL over world cup soccer ten times out of ten. Most importantly (from my perspective), Howard Stern is on Sirius.

I love this radio, 13 bucks a month is well worth the price for satellite radio, the selection is amazing. i should have done this a long time ago.

XM is great but not on par with Sirius. The Stern show on Sirius is the greatest radio ever. His old stuff doesn't even come close. The show yesterday and today was awesome.

I liked the music on sirius better but, ultimately having all the baseball games on xm is great since I'm on the road alot in the summer.....

My only grip is with either is....
I spent the money to get the integrated one that I can operate through my car stereo but, it kinda stinks not being able to listen to the radio at all in my apartment.... I can get the music channels online but, no baseball, news, etc..

I do alot of work from my computer in my apartment and it kinda stinks only having music......I guess if I really wanted it bad enough I would just add another receiver to my account but.....I'm too cheap hehe.

That was great but today they had Porn Actresses using power tools:thumbsup: It really wasn't sexual as it was bizarre. The Stern Show Staff were in shock afterwards.

Yeah, and last week's shows were incredible as well. The quality and quantity of entertainment the uncensored Stern show provides is just amazing. I am happy to pay my $13 per month (even though I also pay $10/mo for my usenet provider, which I almost solely use to DL the Stern show).

O&A Party Rock!

XM has caused me to purchase more CDs since I owned it than I had in the previous year.

IMHO, the news difference is a wash, but XM far surpasses Sirius in music selection. If I wanted lots of replays, I'd listen to FM.

I've had XM Radio since November, but it was until last weekend that I actually got to use it on the highway for a long road trip. Its great for 5 hour drives! I listened to 6-7 different music stations and kept up to date on the Leafs and Habs games. uNF.

Plus, Baseball is by far and away the best sport to listen to on the radio.

Oh, and World Cup '06!!!

Honestly I very seldom listen to music on my Sirius radio, which I guess is odd to some. You may well be right about the music selection vs. XM, though most comparisons don't seem to reach the same conclusion.

BTW, XM subscribers should call up XM and threaten to cancel - apparently they are discounting their subscriptions as low as $3/mo, and even giving away new units, to keep their numbers up. I am told they will be very generous in an effort to maintain their subscriber base.

Really? I have an XM-Myfi sitting on my desk that I am considering activating. I already have a couple subs to sirius, and am there is no way I would cancel that. For three bucks a month I would do both for sure.

Anyone know if I could use my sirius antenna with xm?

XM is great. I haven't listened to OTA radio since I got it. I was an early adopter, I'm on my 3rd radio already.
