Anyone suggesting that Priests are "in high demand" look at your numbers and try again.
Priests need some love, much love.
My friend played a Priest to 30 in retail and deleted him because groups would prefer to have a Paladin or a druid in the group, simply becausse the paladin can SPAM a BETTER heal than the priest can do.
Priests are NOT the best healing class, they dont do much damage [You can do some alright damage if you go shadow, but then your heals are even worse]

hhahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha.... breathe.... ahahahahahhahahahhahahaahahah..
Wow whatever crack you are on... you really and I mean REALLY need to put it away before posting this uninformed crap..
Priests flat out pwn.. and are VERY highly needed in any PVP/PVE group..
thier mana/heal ratio is far better than other classes thier AC buffs are priceless and resses are way better than palys or druids...
<SNIP>
and for regular healing with a heal spec they flat out destroy anyone elses heal line...

Well, I'm not going to comment on whether priests 'pwn' or not, but you have a few mistakes above... :
1) Priests don't get an AC buff usable on others, that's druids. Perhaps you meant stamina buff ?
2) Their mana/heal ratio is actually only slightly better than other classes for the most part. For reference, the most efficient single target heal ratios at level 60 for each class are : Priest 2.8, Druid 2.74, Shaman 2.5, Paladin 2.38 ( or 3.1 if the target has blessing of light on them). Yes, that's right, paladin healing is more mana efficient than priest healing if they use blessings. Of course, that doesn't have much impact as priests have far more mana than paladins do, but it's interesting nonetheless*.
3) While it's true that healing spec for priests brings better returns than healing specs for the other three healers, 'flat out destroy' is a bit of an overstatement of the reality ( Priest 3.8, Druid 3.2, Shaman 3, Pal 2.7/3.4 )
It is, however, undeniable that their ressurect are way better than those of paladins or druids, although it is worth noting that the druid resurrect can be used during combat, whereas the priest one cannot.
* For the technically minded, numbers discussed above are derived from the most mana efficient single target heal each class possesses, quick reference below, based on the average damage of said heal adjusted on an assumed 5% chance of a critical.
Priest - Greater Heal 4, 960 mana, 4 second cast time, heals 2397-2764
Druid - Healing Touch 10, 790 mana, 3.5 second cast time, heals 1890-2230
Shaman - Healing Wave 9, 615 mana, 3 second cast time, heals 1367-1561
Paladin - Holy Light 8, 580 mana, 2.5 second cast time, heals 1246-1388 + Blessing of Light 3 - Adds 400 points to holy lights used on target
