Thanks! I am actually alergic to nothing but outdoor stuff (mold, ick!) And I have no medical conditions, and I am not curently on any drugs, other then drinking now and then. Not for over 2 years anyway.

I am not scared of anything, not heights, spiders, flying, falling, nothing! Nothing except being put to sleep. What is my problem?

Been several years since I had mine all taken out. I remember they gave me a shot to put me out. When they gave me the shot they told me to count backwards slowly from 10. I think I got to 7 and was pretty much out of it for like 3 days. After that I was somewhat back to normal. Just make sure you got someone to look after you for a day or two and you do fine. 🙂

Good luck!

I had mine taken out just a few weeks ago....I just had a local anastesia and I was able to eat solid food the next day...

I just found out i have to get all 4 of my teeth pulled 😱

And my bottom 2 are really bad, so they think I am going to have to go under general anastesia... Which happens to be my biggest fear ever! I don't know why, but the thought of being "forced" to go to sleep scares me more then anything. I am afarid I am going to try and fight it, or somehting is going to go wrong.

I have actually always had trouble sleeping in general, and I refuse to go on medication for it for this reason as well. Am I crazy? Who else has had theirs done, was it too bad?

trust me, the procedure itself is NOTHING compared to the recovery. I recommend local anesthetic... because it's completely painless and it doesn't leave you groggy afterwards - trust me, you won't feel a thing!

For my cause, both of my bottom two teeth were REALLY badly sideways impacted. Luckily for me, my oral surgeon was really good, and finished the procedure in ~15 minutes (for all 4 teeth).

Just hope you don't get "dry socket". All 4 of mine were impacted, with the bottom 2 growing horizontal. I thought that was unusual, but I guess not. Anyhoo, I remember the oral surgeon saying something about dry socket, but I guess I wasn't paying enough attention. Over the next two weeks, I started getting pains in the areas where the bottom teeth had been. I didn't think too much of it until during the second week when the pain spread along my entire bottom jaw. It got so bad that I could not chew anything.

At this point, I decided it was time to go back to the surgeon. I remember him using his little light-thingy to look inside my mouth and his comment was "Oh, I can see your jawbone." Like saying "Huh, how about that?" He didn't seem to think it was a big deal, but I sure did. He said something about the jawbone being exposed to the air was causing the pain I was feeling. Well, he packed it with medicated guaze and I was ok in a few days.

Don't do like I did and wait so long to go back if you suspect you may have dry socket.

Hey, i knew a girl that had her wisdom teeth pulled out.. and she had bruises on her head from the doctor trying to pull them out (i guess it's from gripping/holding down the head when trying to pull them out).
