I could never get one myself. I'm way too much of a chicken. Besides, I'd probably hate it before it was even finished (then again, I'd probably wimp out even before that).

Also, during the healing process, resist the urge (if you have one) to pick at the scab otherwise some of the ink won't "stay", if you get what I mean.

I just saw the worst tattoo ever... or one of the worst ever. I don't think I can even post the link as NWS, but someone actually got a tattoo of 2G1C.
I don't get the whole tattoo thing, but hey, to each his own. I'd never get one, they're just waaaay to permanent. Just because I like something today doesn't mean I'll like it 20 years from now.
My gf has a tattoo on her back that takes up a big chunk of it (no it's not a tramp stamp, it's along the sides of her back), and it's great to look at when I am behind her .

But really, you are getting a tatoo to express yourself, but you are putting it in a place where you and most other people won't generally see. So whats the point?

My favorite is when someone gets a barbed wire armband but they don't get the inside done because it hurts too much.
Remembers George Carlins "Man stuff" line about barbed wire armbands and putting real barbed wire on there instead

I didn't do anything special to prepare for mine and I have to say all of the little needles piercing my skin over and over felt pretty damn good. Just make sure you follow the after care regimen.

I have no tattoos ane of the things I love about these threads are all the haters who come pouring in. Why is everybody so concerned with what someone else does with their body, particularly the OP? He's not getting some generic tattoo that he'll regret in three weeks. It sounds like he's put a lot of thought into this and wants something that is meaningful to him.
Sigh, people are so judgmental on the internet.
