No possibility of anything going wrong with that plan!

Except for the boss not reading the actual law and the IRS probably going to go after his company for fraud. OP and boss are probably going to be fired (maybe go to jail too).

Of course when all this happens, they're going to blame Obama like retards.

My boss took me aside. He wants to fire me. Then he wants to re-hire me back with a raise. He wants to do this because Obama (Our President) signed into law Pub. L. No. 111-92 the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment Act (HIRE). If my boss rehires me as an unemployed person he gets:

1) Exemption from paying the new hire's social security taxes (6.2% of pay) from March 19, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2010.
2) Retention Bonus - Tax credit equal to the lesser of $1000 or 6.2% of wages paid to the newly hired employee if employee is retained for at least 52 consecutive weeks. In order to claim the maximum credit of $1000, the employer must have paid the employee $16,129 over the 52 weeks.

I have to head over to the unemployment office so that I can be classified as unemployed.

Thank you Obama, I thought 'Cash for Clunkers' was the only was I was going to profit from voting for you. It does feel funny driving my new car to the unemployment office. LOL

Feds should be tracking this OP and his boss down as we speak for fraud.

Unfortunately, the feds are too busy suing Arizona and Sheriff Joe to worry about corporate criminals.

Sweet!

Also, I'll mail you my broken stereo with insurance, then you'll claim it was damaged in transit and I'll get a brand new one!

Sounds like something is wrong here. If you go to UE office it effects his insurance rate, at least in my state it does probably negating any benefit he will receive. Furthermore you think there is no clause in there about doing just exactly what he is doing? Federal law makers are stupid when it comes to collecting their blood money? I don't think so. Third this is chump change to look over shoulder for which no sane businessman does.

One termination most likely won't affect the company's experience rating, not to mention if he had the OP resign employment...

However, as many have already said, this loophole does not exist.

Why be a small time fucktard asshole bootlicker/fanboy and have Sheriff Joe as your hero? I hear Martin Boormann may be still alive and hiding in Argentina, and, hey, failing that, there's always Dear Leader in North Korea.

you americans are fucked up, would you really consider (even if the case was 5 minutes and not 60 days) rehiring so that your employer gets a bit of cash and you get a marginal raise?

the whole point of that law is to help citizens which really need it, it's fucks like your employer and equal sheep like you that will keep me away from your country indefinitely

oh and believe me we have douche bags like that here too, I just hope it's the lesser of two evil counts

Greed, selfishness and corruption is not unique to the states stop pretending it is. Where are you from for example.

In any case most Americans in this thread are saying he and boss is a bonehead.
