I just had my computer assembled by my friend today (who also just built one that is working fine) and I was lagging while playing Starcraft 2 using ultra graphics settings. My specs are..
Intel Core i5-760
8GB G-Skill ripjaws memory
MSI Geforce GTX 460 Hawk
MSI P55M-GD41
I started downloading programs to check my temps, and using three different programs they all read pretty much the same thing. At idle (while typing this) the 4 cores are reading 48-54 degrees celcius. I have no idea if that is high or not I can't find any official figures.
I ran sc2 on my tv linked via HDMI and monitored the temps and they all jumped to 99 (the max value?) celcius and while watching my 4v4 replay it was very laggy. I used another program and did it again, temperatures jumped to 99c.
Frys told me the box was opened when I bought it, didn't say if it was used or refurbished, but I still can return/exchange it.
Are there any other factors or settings that may be pushing my temps so high? The video card remains steady at about 35-37 degrees celcius
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
