You think this is entertainment? The government knows that the zombie apocalypse is coming and they're afraid to admit it because it would lead to widespread panic and looting. The zombie media inundation is the governments efforts to publish survival guides without coming out and admitting what's happening. Those who do not learn the secrets are destined to become Zombie Chow.

This is the kind of thing we're talking about.
Might have been funny/original a few years ago, now it's everywhere. (No offense)

You complain about zombies, but not about Jersey Shore and the whole guido thing in general?

Jersey Shore is the dribble of piss that you accidentally shook onto your pants compared to the clogged toilet that is zombie. Sure Jersey Shore never should have happened, but its only bad if you keep remembering that its even there, and its easy to forget about as long as you keep from jamming your nose into your own crotch.

The zombie genre in movies peaked with the first film ever made about it, and I actually like zombie movies, but they really just are not that good. They let brainless horror cliches overrun what really was a poignant reflection of society. It became what it was exposing.

At this point, the only thing left is to make a mockumentary in the style of a zombie film, where its not a mockumentary at all but a serious condemnation of the affront to what the films stood for. So complete is it that not even the ironic turns of Che Guevara and Kurt Cobain (incidentally both would make excellent zombies) can compare: Romero is actually one of the prime reasons why zombie movies are so bad now.

Ultimately it is poetic justice and makes sense as it was an inevitability that this would happen, though somewhat amusing that the brainlessness is what it needed in order to sustain itself and spread.

Or everybody wang chung tonight.

It's because it became a lame fad. Everyone I know has an interest in zombies lately. I know 4 people being zombies as Halloween costumes this year.

People will get sick of it, and it will fade out now that the marketing has saturated the masses.

It's funny how in the end we are all just sheeple moving from trend to trend.

I am Legend also has fast/smart zombies, doesn't mean they aren't zombies, or at least the viral/possessed strain of zombies
they are on the chart

Umm. They were vampires in I Am Legend. They just did a shitty job making that clear in the movie.

Read the book. Way better than that garbage movie anyway. They missed the whole point of the namesake of the book in that movie.

I always thought zombies were lame and stupid.

The vampire was always the superior monster myth and story line.

Of course, just when we could use some good vampire stories, they decided to bring them back all gay.

First it was the vampire assault...one movie made money, so dozens more were made...and still are being made.
Then came the zombie invasion...and of course, the film makers run what was a good thing into the ground...to the point of nausea.

BUT, that's normal for Hollywood. "Hey! XYZ Studios made $16 Bazillion on their last zombie movie, we should make one too!"
Of course, they fail to put enough budget into the scripts and screenplay...so it sucks worse than the vampires in ABC Studio's latest Vampire "thriller."

However, idiots like ATOT...and little children will still flock to the theaters to see them.

Zombies will not be in full burn out mode until someone writes a book about some high school chick who falls in love with a zombie.

Can we get a shift back to slasher flicks? Halloween 14 is on AMC and I now realize just how much I miss this type of movie.

It seems like the makers of any type of visual media have inundated us with zombies for quite some time now. Movies, video games, and TV shows have been milking it with a ferocious abandon. So much so that the zombie effect has fully burned out in me. I see one in a game, movie, or TV show in what is supposed to be a scary scene and all I can think of is "meh". Most of the time now I'm just annoyed. Annoyed in the same way when I see kids with Bieber cuts or when I overhear people in the office talking about a new iPhone. It's getting that bad.

agreed, its ridiculous. even the gun companies are now coming out with stuff about zombies

You actually miss those shitty slashers killing dumber-than-doorknob teens?

Without zombies what then? Demons? Aliens again? What else can we focus our killing energy on?

The Hornady Z-Max? That's all marketing. It would be pretty absurd especially for gun companies to not jump on the bandwagon.

Oh, and as bad as a lot of the horror genre is, slasher flicks are among the bottom. The slashers were incompetent and the slashee(s) were already brain-dead.

As tired as zombies are on the whole, I'll take them over the zombifying reality shows plastered over TV these days. Something's still missing from the idea...I like Walking Dead since it's character-driven but a lot of it is a good example of how to not survive a zombie apocalypse.

Card carrying member of the ZDF here. Although when it comes time... the only one I will be defending is me. People want to put their head in the sand... so be it. Left 4 dead was released by the federal government and I have proof.

The streets will be full of "zombies" if the welfare, disability, and social security checks ever get cut off.

I believe one day some dumb country will release some chemical that will drive people insane. Probably not to eat other humans, but definately to be uncontrollable killers. Then its time to Lock and Load.

History channel ran a show about zombies last night. First half was the history of zombies and the second half was 'experts' teaching how to survive a zombie apocalypse and how to fight zombies. o_O

Vampires are the bourgeois, let-them-eat-cake undead. They think they're better than the rest of us. You know what? FUCK vampires.

Zombies are the blue-collar, proletariat, everyman, working class undead.

Vampires are them. Zombies are us.
