I just bought sonic all star racing to hold the kids over til mario kart 8. FWIW my 3.5 yearold plays Super Mario 3D world, wii party u, justdance 14, need for spped, sochi game, nintendoland, and he loves wonderful 101. He is just getting the hang of the sonic racing game, but he likes it.

I'm pretty used to Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed. I've played it on the 360 and the PC quite a bit. I bought a 3DS a few months ago along with Mario Kart. The one thing that stuck out to be quite a bit was the difference in kart physics between the two games. I just didn't care for the way the kart handles in Mario Kart... mostly in drifting. I got used to the way it drifted pretty quickly, but it still felt awkward.

To note, I also played the first Sonic & Sega Racing game after I played Transformed, and I didn't care for the kart physics in that game either!

Anyway, the reason why I bring this up is that I wonder if Mario Kart 8 will be better?

That's really awesome news. I really wish Nintendo would work on a brand new game and stop rebirthing the same games. The system has plenty of power for a new epic title. C'mon Nintendo!

My 3.5 year old neighbor plays skylander. He cannot read but he can definitely navigate the screens and play. It is, interesting.

I have a 4yr old son that loves Skylanders swap force and both super mario games for the Wii U. I will say, all of the above games are pretty fun to play as a family.

Yea they are refurbished which seems like a decent price. Although I'd check craigslist too to see how much they go for on there.

I got a wii U last week. Its the first nintendo console i've owned in over 20 years (since the old nes).

Playing New Super mario Bros/ Wii party U / Nintendo Land with the wife, its tons of fun. i havent had this much fun playing video games in years.

I was used to playing more competitive games ( Battlefield, CoD , MMOs ) that i had forgotten about simple but laugh your ass off - fun games.

Best money i've spent in a long time

Thats how I felt Danwar. I like those ultracompetitive games, but theres something to be said for less serious fun.

Anyway... got a deal alert that the wiiU was close to a price point several people had mentioned.

Here is the black, deluxe (32GB) wiiU SuperMario Bros / Luigi bros console for $259.99.

Mario Kart 8 is coming out soon... good time to get in if you have been holding out.

I want one but they need to work on that price. The Ebay deal is good though. I need the Super Mario/Luigi bundle plus Mario 3D for $300 out the door. Then its a done deal.

You can get that refurb deluxe direct from Nintendo for $200. Buy Super Mario Bros and Mario 3d for $100 from Amazon.

You'll have Nintendo Land instead of Luigi. If you want Luigi its only $25 or $17 used.

So your really close to your price already.

A question to those of you who have the Wii U here:

How is the Wii U in its streaming capabilities? I'm debating whether to get the Roku 3 or simply just get the Wii U since it can both game and might be able to stream well.

Does the Wii U consistently play content in 1080? Or does it depend on the time of day, etc? Does Netflix and Amazon Prime video content play smoothly?

I've seen a few reviews but they don't seem to mention the part of movies being played in 1080 (or I didn't pay enough attention).

Appreciate it.

I saw the $299 Super Mario/Luigi bungle at Best Buy the other day. Of course with taxes it will make it around $320 or so, depending where you live.

There's always the refurb units Nintendo is selling directly for $200. Been thinking about getting one of those. Comes with Nintendo land.

Anybody bought one of them? Been curious to hear what kind of condition it came in.

I guess you can count me as one of those people that saw Mario Kart 8 and finally went and bought a Wii U. Also got Super Mario and Super Mario 3D Land, fun stuff. Haven't owned a Nintendo console since the SNES.

I use it for streaming Netflix all the time. Looks great to me, I think it streams in 1080 all the time, I don't really know how to tell for sure, but it looks great on my 55" LG TV. Best part is I can switch the display to the gamepad and watch in bed.

Use mine for netflix also. Works great and agree with the use of the tablet. Throw in a pair of ear buds and I can watch netflix or play games in bed while the wife sleeps.

Netflix looks good but loads much slower than on my Roku XS.

I like that more and more original/exclusive games are finally coming out. Mario Kart 8 is reason enough to get it now. I suggest you do so immediately.
