Getting a Wii U, maybe

Here's the problem though, how many people own the nintendo pro controller? I have one. Secondly, the wii-u gamepad is clunky as hell - it's huge. It works "OK" but what if you have 4 friends wanting to play locally? Only one gets to use the gamepad, so the rest have to use the pro controller.

Nintendo innovates controllers but they have too many out and publishers probably can't depend on anyone having anything but a wiimote (non plus) and the U-gamepad.

Hence limited Nintendo success with sports games.

I'm defiintely tired of the wiimote + nunchuk.

Playing Xenoblade with a Classic Pro controller and the Wii Remote dangling from it is irritating.

Remember how successful SNES launch was? Anyone would argue that was the height of the Nintendo age, and the golden age for video games.

Perspective: Wii U launch day sold more more than twice SNES launch units.

How does that mean Nintendo is dying just because there is also a Xbox and PS ?

Wii U also sold more in year one than the PS3 did.

And that's the biggest thing going for it....

More stagnant realistic modern military shooters is NOT what anybody wants right now... Except the causal COD retards who only play COD and were never gamers in the first place.

Nintendo knows what they are doing. They are catering to the original gamer demographic that were playing video games before video games became cool and mainstream. And that is just fine with me.

NES and SNES did just fine when video games were a fringe niche and kids toy. People need to stop comparing everything to COD numbers and freaking out. F*ck COD.

I want to have fun playing video games. I bought a wii U specifically for super mario 3d world. And it is the most fun I've had with a video game since super mario galaxy.

Way more fun than any of the realistic games out there. It's just fun and keeps me coming back to where I can't wait to play it.

Gotta agree with this Mario galaxy was so much fun when I had a Wii. I originally bought it for my younger brother and sister at the time and they really didn't pay attention to it so I played on it more.

Then they moved and lost the Wii or I would still have it.

i have not had immense fun with super mario 3d world, great game, but it's not like i'm constantly shouting this is great. it's fun to get all 3 stars and the stamp...i wish it was significantly more difficult?

I have heard it's actually a bit harder than the others. Maybe if I can catch a deal one day I'll pick one up just to have.

It isnt terribly hard since you can rack up dozens of lives and continue... and then that invulnerability suit if you die too many times.

But the final castle requires 130 stars which has me backtracking to get some I missed, on some levels I struggled with.

It is fun though. It is throwback gaming.

I'd have to agree. I wish it was more difficult.

Getting 120 stars in Mario Galaxy was extremely difficult like other mario world games. I would spend hours just getting some of the harder stars.

I disagree. I had more trouble 100%ing Super Mario 3DW compared to getting all 120 (240?) stars in SMG.

SM3DW doesn't really get challenging till the last 2 worlds I found. Everything up till then is rather easy though. Great game though and I <3 Rosalina.

I took the plunge and bought a Wii U. I got:

Wii U Mario Bundle
SM3DW
Zelda WWHD
DuckTales
Wii U Pro Controller

42"? Shoot for 75"!

Nah I have a small apartment and I don't have the budget for a tv that big. Even a 50 inch would look awkward in my living room. But I really want to play Mario or Zelda so it's a tough choice. Nothing is wrong with my current tv either.

I possibly should have added /joking.

We have a 42" in our bedroom and it's just about the perfect size. Is your current tv hd?

Found a deal or just felt like spending?

I was so bored that I felt like spending. I also grabbed a Classic pro Controller and was unsure if I actually needed it. Some of the games on my VC are not transferable to Wii U VC, so I am going to keep it.

I have two of the old VC controllers that look like the SNES controllers but I like the extra handles on the pro controller.
