In the US, McDonalds pays about $7.50 an hour, a manager from what I've seen will make $10 or 11 per hour. Almost an impossible wage to live on.
$10/h is ok here as long as you don't own a car or have any kids. Healthcare is free and dental is subsidized, so it's entirely possible for someone to work at McDonalds their entire life and not face bankruptcy (unless you do something really stupid).

My best friend is a store manager after working at McDonalds for like 6 years or so. He's making over 40k with benefits. Not great, but I think that's pretty damn good considering he doesn't even have a high school diploma and his job involves no physical labor. I guess it's about equivalent to being a secretary in terms of pay and ease of work

Ohhhhhh, Canadian dollars. I know the US dollar is about even with the CAD but I'm not sure how that converts to purchasing power.

That sounds about right. This kid I went to high school with was a manager as soon as he got his diploma and made $11. 5 years later he is still making $11....and he has a CIS degree

I was the 1st they called, since 18 of them failed the pre-screening test...you know those stupid multiple choice tests?
I don't know how people can fail those.

"Have you ever killed a man?"

The answer "no" is circled but "yes" looks like it was circled then erased :awe:

haha...what they look for is consistency. so they will ask you the same question worded differently. And if you answer different you fail. Supposed to test truthfulness and honesty...

When I worked for the toyota dealership we had to take a test every few months. and one of the questions, i shit you not, as "If you could take a recreational drug, what would it be" answers were Meth, Coke, Weed, Ex, Heroine with no option of None. Based on what you chose determined what kind of employee you were...so like weed meant you were lazy, coke meant you were hyper/motivated, meth meant crazy...heroine and ex i dont remember.

Dear OP, you are worth less than a paper clip to Kinkos. The real factor is how lazy the manager is and how much not having a person to do the job they are hiring for, affects the manager's bonus.
