Its hard for me to get around and I just wanted to get my day planed out so I can just go get it done since my wife cannot for me.
depending on the check amount you may want to consider applying for a bank account again. depending on how long ago your "violation" was, a bank may consider opening an account if you tell them you have a fat opening deposit.
depends on the bank policy. I know UMB is really stricht about that stuff, but some smaller banks and credit unions need the business, so...

Like i said try a smaller bank or Credit Union, and speak to one of the PBR's. If you explain that you had a hardship due to disability, but are finally getting your settlement money, they may work with you. especially if they think you'll be depositing more money in the future, or considering CD's through them, etc.

This sounds like a significant amount of cash. Are you planning on walking out of the bank with a couple grand (or more)? What are you planning on doing, stashing it under your mattress?

Neither is it yours. I covered the possibility of him not having a bank account by suggesting he look up the bank's routing number online. I guess I assumed wrongly when I assumed he was smart enough to call the bank and find local locations. :p

his problem was that there were no local locations. was pretty clear. someone posted the UMB website way early in the thread. an ABA has very little to do with brach locations anyway. unless it is a very small country bank, one ABA can cover a network of branches spaning multiple states.

Hey I know my man boobs are big enough for a bra but I was really thinking of rolling it up and sticking it in my underwear. Will serve two purposes. One nobody will ever go down there to steal it and 2 it will make me look really really thick. Not very long but really thick as a brick :)

I always assumed that a Lifer was smart and been around enough to read a thread to get where he/she is in thier post count but you keep proving me wrong.

If you had JUST READ THE POST you wouldnt of ASSumed anything because you woruld of READ I dont have the check it is going to be here tomorrow. You also would of READ several times me telling you that if you had READ that I asked what the banks name was and was told it was UMBNA. If you had READ you would of seen that I didnt know about the routing number when they had called and now that I do know when I get the check in hand tomorrow I will be doing what other people aready mentioned BEFORE you made your smartass comments towards me. PLEASE STOP POSTING or atleast READ what has already been written before making further comments.

You really need to stop assuming because you made a assouta yourself :p

1. If you are on chex systems you most likely can still get a savings account without too much trouble.
2. If you are on chex systems with no monies owed you can still get a checking accont at plenty of banks.
3. You are under the assumption that Umb or whatever they are is just going to cash this fat check for you no questions asked. I bet they don't. Is this an insurance check? cause that is a red flag as well.
