depending on the check amount you may want to consider applying for a bank account again. depending on how long ago your "violation" was, a bank may consider opening an account if you tell them you have a fat opening deposit.Originally posted by: funboy42
Would still need to trust them enough to give me the money once it clears. I cant do it with my brothers because I dont want them to know about the money just yet. I may be able to do it with my father in law but I would really like to no envolve them if I dont need to. Again once I get the check in hand and check out the routing numbers and see who it really is I will wiegh my options. I was just hoping I was looking up the wrong place and there was a actual bank called UMBNA I was missing somewhere to plan out my day tomorrow when my wife gets home. Its hard for me to get around and I just wanted to get my day planed out so I can just go get it done since my wife cannot for me.

depends on the bank policy. I know UMB is really stricht about that stuff, but some smaller banks and credit unions need the business, so...

hey, i work at UMB. I'm here right now.
no branches near you. sorry. you could calculate if the drive would be less than the cut a check cashing place would take.
do you know someone with a checking account? you can sign it over to them to cash it.
Like i said try a smaller bank or Credit Union, and speak to one of the PBR's. If you explain that you had a hardship due to disability, but are finally getting your settlement money, they may work with you. especially if they think you'll be depositing more money in the future, or considering CD's through them, etc.Originally posted by: funboy42
I was thinking this as well. It was 5 years ago so who knows.Originally posted by: mordantmonkey

This sounds like a significant amount of cash. Are you planning on walking out of the bank with a couple grand (or more)? What are you planning on doing, stashing it under your mattress?

Neither is it yours. I covered the possibility of him not having a bank account by suggesting he look up the bank's routing number online. I guess I assumed wrongly when I assumed he was smart enough to call the bank and find local locations.![]()

Hey I know my man boobs are big enough for a bra but I was really thinking of rolling it up and sticking it in my underwear. Will serve two purposes. One nobody will ever go down there to steal it and 2 it will make me look really really thick. Not very long but really thick as a brick![]()
