Getting a 7800 GT, but with a slow CPU. Bad idea?

are they building it for you? the corsairs i linked to are cheaper and have better timings, also for the harddrive, I think the maxtor 16mb caches are 125 canadian, they would be a little faster

First thing is aviod Tigerdirect. I would also suggest the Epox NF4 board if you want some nice overclocking.

i have got many things from tigerdirect.ca before and i had no problems, plus where it ships from is about 3 hours away from where i live

the stuff is sent from the US usually, the label probably has a canadian address, but the physical inventory comes from the US

dude 1.8 won't hold you back at all. it may be the difference of 10-15fps vs the fx 57, but it won't hold you BACK.

uh no, tigerdirect.ca is located in markham, its ships from markham, the warehouse is pretty big, if you get the dfi infinity, you would be best to avoid corsair, i have a dfi board, great overclockers, haven't read a review yet for the infinity yet, nice find on the harddrive

nice board here, http://forum.overclockersonline.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7848
if the non-sli uses the same bios and everything, like dfi does with the lanparty series, then it should be a good overclocker as well. i've seen it as low as $155 CDN

tigerdirect ships from the US, if you are referring to the big white building in markham, that is their outlet store, not warehouse

But then again, a Venice 3000+ would run cricles around my system. Just get a 3000+ and a Thermalright XP120 heatsink. Then get this fan http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de12tfexhisp.html
isn't that kinda loud?

it's not a little bit. it's a jet engine. I had a smart fan II at full bore and that was still about 15 decibels more quiet than the delta...

For a change of only 4C I replaced it with a 90 mm Medium Speed Panaflow.

Peace at last!

It's perfect for maximum overclockability though lol. (Without water or peltier or any of that stuff)
